lol no one said anything about the stadiums. you won't get any argument here that fedex field is a great stadium - it sucks ass. i've never been to m&t bank stadium but i know for a fact it is 100x better than fedex and in a much better location.

but your attitude basically proved my point about ravens fans being ALMOST as bad as philly fans, which you are, so thank you lol.

Trust me, a lot of my local friends are all Skin fans and I've done the FedEx tailgate many times (friend's family has season Club level tickets). I think it's just a blue collar mentality that defines Philly and B-more fans vs coddled DC fans, I have friends in both camps. You should get to M&T sometime just for the experience. It's even better than the Linc (Philly), you seem like a blue collar mentality kind of guy.

I'll be in Baltimore Sunday with a Ravens friend (and maybe a few more like g/f, other buddy) for the game. If anyone wants to meet up, shoot me a msg. We'll most likely just hit up one of the bars outside of the stadium since tickets seem to be going like hotcakes (500 level were $112 two days ago, now cheapest is $155 on stubhub) due to Lewis' possible last game (and my friend doesn't have money like that to burn)! We're going to go early (11am) to get a table somewhere, game is 1pm.

good luck driving back to va on 95/495 after both a ravens AND skins home game. hopefully you get there by monday.

For some reason skins fans are obsessed with hating on the Ravens and their fans. I don't get the hate, a lot of us were skins fans in the dark years when Baltimore didn't have a team.

i hate 99% of ravens fans because ravens fans are obnoxious as shit and love to rub in how awesome their team is. they talk as though the ravens being good has any bearing on the redskins, when in fact other than once every 4 years, the only place they could meet is the superbowl, so the regular season record really has no effect on eachother at all.

then when the ravens lose a game or 2 they are full of excuses about to why they lost and that it wasn't their fault and they should have won the game. they also think joe flacco should be starter in the afc probowl every year when he is a middle of the pack qb.

and like you said, a lot of them jumped off the skins fandom when bandwagoned over to the ravens once they got back to baltimore and started doing well. they weren't browns or baltimore colts fans from back in the day, they simply jumped on the bandwagon when they started doing well. and the past decade while the skins have sucked and the ravens have been doing good they love to rub it in and trash the skins. a real fan is there for the good times and bad times.

that is my experience with ravens fans the past decade and why i will be rooting for the colts on sunday.

Well I don't know who you hang around with, because I don't know any Ravens fans that act like that, but whatever. What you're describing are moron fans, and every team has them. My neighbor would talk trash about the Redskins ALMOST beating the Ravens in pre-season...

The vast majority of us Ravens fans root for them because Baltimore (and the surrounding area) is our hometown. Of course we're gonna root for the Baltimore Ravens over the Washington Redskins. I've lived the majority of my life about 20 minutes South of Baltimore. Now I'm on the eastern shore, I can see the Chesapeake Bay from my front yard. Of course I'm gonna root for the team that represents the state that I live in. That's not being a bandwagon fan.

The only reason I, and a lot of us, rooted for the Redskins in the late 80s and early 90s is because they were the closest thing we had to a hometown team. I can forgive current Redskins fans that live in Montgomery and PG county though.

Cool, maybe we'll stop by. Any suggestions on good bars by the stadium?

Honestly I hardly ever go to bars when I'm going to the game. If you're gonna be north of the stadium (by camden yards) check out pickles and the other bars that are next to it. They've got a cool set up for Orioles and Ravens games. If I'm not tailgating I usually park in the garage right across the street and hang out there for a bit.

You can hit up Ravens walk which is between camden yards and M&T, it's basically for people that don't have a tailgate to go to but still want to hang out before the game. A lot of local bars and restaurants set up shop there and sell food and beer. There's a fair amount of stuff to do there.

If you're gonna be in the Federal Hill area (close to where I'm tailgating) Mother's is a great place to go. They have the whole purple patio thing, but I'd get there early because I've seen some long lines there before, never been though. If I were going into the city just to watch the game at a bar that's probably where I'd go. PM me if you want to meet up, I'll be in that area from around 9 until 1130ish, I want to get into the stadium early so I don't miss Ray's last entrance.

honestly, i don't get the hate, either (aside from them being an afc team). i hate the afc, but if there's a team i'll cheer on in the afc, it's the ravens.

they're a home team. i'm not gonna be a dick and cheer against my home team. yeah, i think it's shitty that there are defectors, but i get it. they've been a good team for years, they proudly display the maryland flag in their logo, they have an attractive color scheme... i get that.

however, the redskins have always been and always will be my home team. they are THE dc metropolitan area home team, whether you live in maryland or not. i grew up outside of dc and i grew up a skins fan. even the dark years couldn't make me switch allegiances. they're my team, whether they have great years or shitty years.

Yea that's why I say I don't blame the folks that live in PG or Montgomery county. Those areas seems to have much stronger ties to the DC area than the rest of Maryland.

then why suddenly abandon your team because some new team shows up? I didn't become a panthers fan and ditch the Skins simply because a team moved into Charlotte. Of course, a lot of it has to do with calling themselves "Carolina" D: disgusting.

Still, the Skins wouldn't stop being my #1 regardless.

simple - because they are fairweather fans and the ravens were doing good and the redskins were sucking.

Because it's my hometown and they represent the area I grew up in and currently live.

Yea the Ravens were awesome in 1996 when they went 4 and 12. Give it a rest. Maryland got a team again, so those of us that live in Maryland are gonna root for our team. Common sense. Some of you guys have a serious inferiority complex. We're not even in the same conference man, who cares? It's the same reason I don't blame all of the Nats fans that live close to DC, most of them used to be Orioles fans.

I liked football, so I rooted for the closest team. It's better than all the annoying bandwagon Steeler and Cowboys fans in the area.

big difference - nats fans (for the most part) don't dislike the orioles at all. as with the ravens/skins, they are in different leagues. again, for some reason ravens fans care bout the redskins.

i'm going to be coming back a st. louis cardinals fan and baltimore orioles fan. i'm pretty sure there won't be much that can change that. i hope they never meet in a world series...
