nope. VA beach is more of a shit hole than OC by a long shot.

but OC is no paradise island either. it is pretty trash/shitty as you say, just not nearly as shitty as VA beach. it's fun for like 2-3 days at a time but no more. VA beach just isn't fun.

They are both shit holes if you ask me... I goto Outer Banks or Myrtle...

found a nice apartment in gaithersburg that allows big dogs and is giving me first month's rent free. new carpeting, nice square footage for the price and the fact that it's a 1 bedroom, and it's got dogshit bag stations all over the complex.

lucky, because i found this place at the last minute.

Yes, that's so horrible that they want to improve the quality of care for women who choose.
They include prohibitions on abortions after 20 weeks, when a fetus is deemed old enough to feel pain, and requirements that doctors prescribe abortion-inducing drugs in person rather than by teleconference.

You do honestly think that was the intent of this Legislation?

Come one everyone knows this is this nothing more than faux anti abortion Legislation to make getting abortions more difficult.

What about the conservatives claim of the doctor knows best? Oh but in this case it seems the Virginia Republican Party knows better. Why is that ?

Congrats on your place. I used to like Gaithersburg, but I haven't been down that way in a couple of decades. I suspect I wouldn't like it as much as I once did. I try to stay above Baltimore in my travels, and preferably west . I can feel my mood drop the closer I get to DC. Conversely, my mood improves as I cross he PA line, and travel around Lancaster county. Maybe I was meant to live in PA. Not as far north as I'd like, but it's hard to argue with results.

moving back in january. pretty excited, yet kinda heartbroken. my relationship with my girlfriend will end, which sucks, because we're great together. she can't move with me because she has a daughter who she can neither take nor leave.

i love maryland.

Congrats. I just moved to Rockville, MD from St Louis a few months ago and haven't yet come even close to adjusting despite being from the East Coast. Before MO we lived in Richmond, VA and I'm having trouble adjusting to the population density and general craziness of Montgomery County (not that northern VA would have been any better). Every day, driving the 1 to 1.5 miles to the MetroRail station takes 20+ minutes, and going to Costco resembles nothing more than the hordes fighting for shit in Walmart on Black Friday. I think in 22 months when our lease is over we'll move to Fredericksburg VA and I'll take the VRE to work. At least that's a civilized mode of transportation, unlike the Red line on MetroRail which is more akin to a cattle car.

lol, man, i'm used to it. i grew up with it. i did like how laid back and easy it was to get everywhere in st. louis, though. 270 south (in st. louis, not dc) during rush hour, though? forget it.

Anyone going to the Ravens game or going to be in Beemore to watch the game (at a bar)? Would be fun seeing one of Lewis's last games in the city.

i stay as far away from baltimore as i possibly can. hate that city and hate 99% of ravens fans as well. i will be rooting for the colts hardcore before the skins game, although i will be shocked if the colts beat the ravens in baltimore.

i don't move back for another 9 days.

already got a packed house anyways 😛

Raven fans are 10X better than latte drinking, rich Skins fans who couldn't find their way out of B.More with a paper map before calling 911. Much grittier, louder and real football environment than the rich yuppies who golfclap for RG3 while enjoying their club level seats and cigar bar and discussing #firstworldproblems. FedEx field tailgating is like a pathetic episode of Friends while M&T tailgating is like a gritty episode of the Wire - your car isn't guaranteed to be in that shady lot that you just paid $40 to someone who may not even own the lot. Also, there are a plethora of bars within walking distance of the stadium and once in the stadium, you are actually worried about being physically assaulted for wearing an opposing team's jersey (while FedEx fans may actually boo you once through the pathetic haze of apathy). At FedEx, yuppies will tell you to "sit down" if you're standing, at M&T the fans are on their feet for 3/4 of the game. It's like night and day.

Hence it fondly reminds me of my home (Philly) and Fedex is like the rich Jersey douche who couldn't name 3 starters on offense or defense but were there b/c it was the cool thing to do. Where money will buy you apathetic happiness for 5 hours on a Sunday. The majority of beloved patriot fans are the same bunch of white-collar pussies who treat football as an optional social event (and gladly pay 25% more for concessions than M&T patrons), while B.More is like a blue-collar religion.

Granted, I haven't been to FedEx since the RG3 dickriding and last visited in 2010, but for the past decade I would rate M&T as a top 5 stadium experience on par with recent articles:
ESPN ranked M&T the best home field advantage stadium, i.e. toughest place to play statistically (2012)
In his fifth season in Baltimore, coach John Harbaugh is 30-5 (.857) at M&T Bank Stadium -- the best home record in the league over that time. Harbaugh calls his home-field advantage "the wall of purple" and says it's difficult to speak to someone only a foot away at home games.

Under Harbaugh at home, the Ravens have:

• Allowed an average of only 13.9 points per game, the best figure in the league; Pittsburgh is second at 14.7.

• Produced league highs of 111 interceptions and 209 sacks.

• Averaged a victory margin of 14.3 points.

Ask longtime Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi about tough places to play, and he offers up a Ravens-Patriots Monday night game from 2007. The Patriots were 11-0 going in -- on their way to a 16-0 regular season -- and hung on to win 27-24.

"It was five years ago, and I can remember everything -- it made that much of an impression," Bruschi said. "Sometimes when you play in certain venues you feel the audience. The electricity they have, the energy they're giving the team. You feel that in Baltimore.

"It's like the fans and the defense are in perfect sync together."

Kevin Byrne, the Ravens' senior vice president of public and community relations, will tell you this isn't an accident. The Ravens, he said, strive to make the in-stadium experience more compelling than watching from home.

"That's what we're competing against," Byrne explained. "We invite the fans to help. We're saying, 'You can help us win. You can be a factor.' Let's not guess what they want -- let's ask them.

"We spend a lot of time and effort on it. We're pretty good at it, I have to admit."

The Ravens have monthly offseason meetings -- attended by the team president and a number of vice presidents -- to discuss details. During the season, these sessions are held before every home game.
... "Ray Lewis will tell you he'd almost rather play away from home, because at least on the road he can talk to his teammates on the field."

King Farm? 😛

breckenridge apartments in gaithersburg/montgomery village. $1200/mo, first month is free, full washer and dryer, i only have to pay electric... and it's a big 1br/1ba... ~837 sqft.

Nice. I used to have one at King Farm through my employer and it was exactly as you described so I was wondering, though it's Rockville not Gaithersburg. 😉

lol no one said anything about the stadiums. you won't get any argument here that fedex field is a great stadium - it sucks ass. i've never been to m&t bank stadium but i know for a fact it is 100x better than fedex and in a much better location.

but your attitude basically proved my point about ravens fans being ALMOST as bad as philly fans, which you are, so thank you lol.

You don't understand, he is saying you are better than him which is what makes him better than you :awe:
