I like guitar pro alot, but every song I make sounds like it came straight from a nintendo game. Is there any program that I can compose music on that sound realistic? I make mostly heavy metal.

well they're midi sounds, what do you expect ? How do you propose you can create sounds otherwise ? Midi is digital/synthesized... and already available for you to "create your music".

At best, what you can do is change to another MIDI output ... Options --> Midi Setup ... see how it sounds for you. I changed mine to MS GS Wavetable SW Synth and it sounds much more full.

BTW, you know about mysongbook.com right ? Awesome resource for GP3/4 tabs.

yeah the sounds are coming from your soundcard which uses a midi synth and it will always sound like crap. I'd reccomend looking into Musiclabs RealReal Guitar by Music Lab. One of the most realistic sounding guitar synths I've ever heard! It only does acoustic guitar now, but if you run it through an Amp simulator you might get better results. check out the samples and judge for yourself

There should be a way to output the MIDI info from guitar pro and have it play through Real Guitar, might want to look into that too. Hope that helps!
