I am looking for a Dave Barry story about his mother's suicide...

I've been looking for it for years, I'm trying to remember where I read it. All I remember is crying after I read it, then calling my mom up and talking to her for a bit. Does anyone recall this column or short essay?

I think it was Dave Barry who wrote it, and the reason I remember it is that it was wedged in one of his books, so it was humorous story, humorous story, account of his mother's suicide that made me cry, humorous story.

Agreed, I am very close to my mom. Of course, she's turning 61 this year and retiring, and so life marches on, I guess.

Very sad. Fortunately when my dad passed away my mother dealt with it by keeping herself busy with friends and traveling. She even got a computer and for her AOL is the internet lol.

I remember reading this, and it's very sad. Dave Barry has a talent for writing a story that says a lot more than just the words.
