Plantronics CT10 CORDLESS HEADSET TELEPHONE for $89.00

Any better deals out there for a phone of this type?

This is not entirely a hot deal, but I think may be useful info.....
IBM headset phone
A less advertised feature of this phone is that it has inputs and output which you can connect to your sound card and you have a cordless headset for your computer.
This is NOT the best price for the phone , I paid $99 for it at Sam's Club.
I looked for cordless headset for a LOT of time but was unable to find anything - but now I dont have to be stuck in front of the computer when I am talking via dialpad
If you have a better way of accomplishing the same , please share :)

One that my wife swears by, but is a little more expensive, is the VTECH headset. It's pretty comfortable, comes with a little card remote for dialing, sound in both ears, and the part I like is the you get a dialtone or hangup by moving the mic arm up and down. I think there is a 15% coupon floating around too, like at techbargains...

Can you send me the link that coupon for the VTech?
Do you know any Plantronic coupons out there either?

Here's one you can't beat if you already have a phone and just need the headset/transmitter.
The Compgeeks just added this GN Netcom model that sells for $300-$450 elsewhere for $49.95 plus shipping. 150 foot range and 1000 digital codes.

The VTech one looks kind of bulky. but it seems like a cool deal... on the other hand I just want a cheap cordless headset phone.... Is there any instant rebates that I can get from Staples off any item? that would be nice if I could get that phone for cheaper

The VTech one seems to be one of the good ones... but if you really want a good headset phone get a Plantronic and buy one of there expensive headphones

The GN Netcom unit I mentioned below is in a different class from everything else mentioned here. They are used by professional call centers and the headset by itself sells for over $80. See this Link for more information. Netcom has gone to all 2.4Ghz models on their new phones so geeks must have made an absolutely killer deal. It does require you already have a normal phone to hook it to, but 90% off isn't bad.

Can that phone hook up to any type of phone?
Right now... I only have a corded phone... Could I hook this wireless headset up to that phone and still use it?

It is the same system that is on sale for $50, right?

Sorry... me again...
If this wireless headset doesn't have a dialpad... do you have to dial out with your original phone?? That seems a bit tedious... Is there a dialpad hookup on sale with this?

It hooks up to your corded phone. You dial your corded phone which does sound tedious. In terms of sound quality, range and security it sounds like it is great. If you click on the Compgeeks link in my post a lot of your questions will be answered. I have ordered a couple of them myself and will report back if no one here has ever used one of these.

Do you need the Caller ID or something...? Cuz you can get cheaper than that

For the GN Netcom unit...? If I dial out with my corded phone... does that mean that the phone has to be off the hook or something? That also seems quite annoying, although the wireless headset is a really tempting offer. It has Comp. hookup capabilities too right?

I'm looking for something that I can use at work. It has more features than most. BB, OM, and OD have it. I need to make and receive phone calls away from my desk where there are no phones. So I can move around, and if you have caller ID you can let the call go into your voice mail if you are screening your calls.
