I want a set of 19" monitors and i want to spend about $550 for both. Looking for suggestions. I want them to be flat and have excellent display quality. Can i get this for ~$275 each? I do graphic and web stuff and will be staring at them for long periods of time. Suggestions? Reccomendations?

Thanks

I've been using the Hitachi cm721F for about 10 months now and have to say it's an outstanding monitor. Newegg carries it for $252 and $30 for shipping.

I guess I'm just partial to trinitron tubes over diamondtron.
Something with a trinitron tube...look around.
Diamondtrons still have a bow.

Here's some recommendations under $250 ea

Compaq p910 (16x12 at 85 baby, yeah) -- could be hard to find, out of production
Samsung 957p -- way better than 950b
Hitachi CM715, or CM721F -- both good

As far as the "totally flat" gimmick: don't get sold on it. Sometimes it makes the picture fuzzy, even on the two Trinitrons that I have. Sony E400 and G520, both terribly fuzzy at 16x12, and the color is off. Horrible.

If you want a pair and want them cheap, I just switched out a pair of Iiyama 19" flat screen CRTs with specs as follows:

Iiyama Vison Pro 450
(A901HT) Refurbished X 2
Max 1600 x 1200 /85
Rec: 1600 x 1200 /85
Aperture Grille 19? flat
Video bandwidth: 230MHz dot clock
0.25mm stripe (center)
Mitsubishi DiamondTron NF tube

If you like these, I can sell them to you for a lot less than what you will pay for new ones.
