when i want something ups in less than 2 weeks i pay for 3 day service'
unless i am buying from Newegg,or Summitracing
Newegg uses Fedex, the usual Fedex dude for me is Very good, and if i am not here he swings by again enroute to the local hub,
The Ups normal guy is good, but his day off replacement is :(
Summitracing must send a LOT of stuff,it is almost always here in 2 days!:D

Actually, I have seen with my very own eyes on one occasion where the UPS delivery driver went to drop off several packages to my neighbour. They weren't home at the time so he went back to the truck and THREW the packages to the back of the truck from the front driver's side. He wasn't our usual UPS guy, the regular fellow is much more mature, this fella is pretty much a teen adult. Not to say all UPS drivers do this, but this was just my observation. Plucky

Heh .. that's why I put lots of foam and crap in anything I ever ship out. I usually kick the packages to the PO myself, to make sure they'll stand the test.

Edit: BTW I ordered a Digi Cam worth 500 bucks selected the next day shipping and took almost a week to get to my house. I waited on the day it was to arrive and i saw the UPS Guy drive off, I look outside my door and my package was there but didn't ask for a signature, Guy probably assumed since it was in a small box it wasn't worth anything.... I'd cry if it got stolen

yeah.. that happened to me too.. i ordered a $600 Tag watch and the UPS guy just drop it off in my front door... and I'm living in apartment too...

Burn UPS! :|

UPS = Unionized = No incentive to perform
Fedex = Contracted = No performance No pay

Errr... you do realize that it has to travel to a UPS hub first, right? They don't just drive it from his house to yours. Many time they will ship it out of state, then back in state because of taxes and or delivery protocal.

Ok unless Delivery Confirmation is specifically requested UPS is NOT going to ask for your signature - they're just going to leave it on your doorstep. They have no idea of the contents of the package - just a list of what needs signatures and what doesn't

Unofficial policy is drivers can DR anything to a single family home as long as they leave the package in a reasonably secure area. IE: not by the curb.

$1000+ in insurance automatically kicks in the sig requirement. Otherwise its like $2.75 or something. I managed to get the UPS counter girl to give me a roll of Sigreq stickers, so I just paste them on and I dont have to pay the extra $.
