We had a Raid 0 array, and the controller on the bottom of one of the hard drives burnt out.

The data is still intact, and we are able to get a brand new controller and hook it up and replace the burnt.

How do i RECOVER the broken stripe array in a HIGHPOINT based raid system.

If you have a RAID 0 stripe set and a drive fails... you data is lost. If you can replace the drive PCB and get it running again then you could be OK. Just put the Master/Slave jumper on the new PCB in the same place the old PCB had them and all should be well. I believe when you said the 'controller' on the drive failed.. you actually meant the PCB on the drive. The other drives and the RAID controller are OK... correct?

Sounds like you 'dodged the bullet'. The only thing you should do now is back up your data.....

I would think that maybe using RAID 0 would be ok for apps/OS (which are easy to replace) but I don't think I'd store any data on a 0 array. Hope you can get your data back.
