Stepped on a roofing nail. Got staff and strep infecton in my foot.

This is my second week in and i have had 3 operations.

How deep and how long did you wait until you decided to go to the hospital? 3 operations sounds like you went pretty deep.

Wow! Probably you got the antibiotic resistant staph or MRSA to be in such bad condition.

Hopefully, it's not the flesh eating bacteria...Necrotizing Fasciitis.


I remember stepping on a rusted nail when I was a kid eons ago. Did not tell my parents until it got infected and I couldn't walk. Got to the hospital and was given anti-tetanus shots which cured my problem.

I guess staphylococcus bacteria then have not undergone complex mutation that they were simple enough to treat.

Are you able to walk on your own or you need crutches or a wheel chair to move around?

 
You can get very nice looking steel toe/sole shoes and sneakers (at least in Canada, look for the green triangle). You can also get them made of hard plastic so it's lighter.
 
Your story is makine me thankful that nothing bad happened when I put a rusty nail through my foot :S Hope you get better man with as few complications as possible.
 
I got a mystery super-infection in Afghanistan from a small cut on my hand. I took a nap and woke up to see a bright red line from my knuckle to my shoulder. Not fun.
 
When I was 8 years old I stepped on a board with a rusty nail. Was walking around in my socks outside so the board + nail went through sock . Had to go to ER with board attached since my mom didn't want to pull it off.

Yikes. Did they load you up with IV antibiotics?
