I am headed to the El Paso, Texas area, what is there to do?

My families plans changed at the last minute, and we are now going to be going to the El Paso area, and was just wondering what all there is to do. I am not talking like going shopping or what not, but more like places of interest, hiking, historical sites, mainly Indian sites, any good areas for fishing, somehow I kinda of doubt that last one? So what all is there to do? I am in the Panhandle for anyone that maybe interested, but will be staying in Texas on the way down, starting just south of Amarillo and going through Odessa and on to El Paso, or actually just a little south of El Paso.

Thanks for any info.

Juarez, Mexico lies across the border from El Paso. Lot's of fun can be had there. It's better to go over with a friend.

Yeah I'd be careful there after dark.
Stayed one night there on the way out to Cali on a road trip.
Some Spanish people started a fight with the group of people I was with in our hotel parking lot.
Quite a few bums there too, poor area.
Hope you have a good visit though.🙂

We won't be going into Mexico, so that is out of the question. We will not be actually going into El Paso, but will be in the El Paso area, probably camping at a private campground because the state parks seem to be booked, or atleast by the registration website.

I was there with my parents when I was about 3, so I don't remember much, but my parents said they were bored out of their minds. GL though 🙂
