I traded him the exorcist DVD for $10. He asked if the DVD was in perfecto condition. It was in MINT condition, maybe a tiny tiny fingerprint mark on the edge but I don't remember. He is threatening to post our PM history in a thread. This is illegal right? Only moderator can view PM history I presume.

All of this over $10? You don't remember the condition of the DVD? He looks like a reputable trader. You have limited Heat with 1 neutral. Why don't you see if the Trollhunters will mediate? I got the feeling you did something to pi$$ him off.

It doesn't sound like the issue is the money, it's the fact that Nokia doesn't want the pms made public.

Well there's obviously some sort of conflict over this $10 deal or it wouldn't have gotten this far. I assume it has something to do with the condition of the disk.

This is not the manner in which to air concerns regarding a $10 deal. This is a private matter between you & masterxfob.

what nokiadude failed to mention was that he also stated that the cover was in mint condition while it is clearly torn.

i do not wish to waste anyone else's time on the matter but i will provide our PM history and pictures of the torn dvd case to anyone that requests it of me.

did he actually specify the cover was in mint condition? or did he just say the dvd was in mint condition?

While this is really none of my business to interfear with.
I think your both over reacting. The DVD might be in mint condition but the cover is not. That is bad dealings in IMHO and should have clearly been said so.

Now the bottom line is this transaction is only for $10 dollars... I would have dealt with this a little differently instead of making a big fuss about it. $10 is not going to make or break either of you (I would hope so anyway). Perhaps like refunding some of the money, or sending it back for a full refund (little too extreme).

The bottom line is this thread takes things a little too far I think. Going over to a moms and pops video store can usually fix the cover problem for little or no money with a simple exchange. They usually do it for repeat customers anyway. Or at least the ones I went to anyway will I moved. But still... just $10... My g/f's son is only 6 years old and he packs that kinda money quite often (and no, they are not rich).

Anyway my .02 cents

This is something that needs to be worked out between the two parties, in a professional manner.

this is over a DVD cover? boy howdy...PALEASE post pictures so we can see the true extent of this catastriphie! heck the damage could have been done during shipping, or when masterxfob opened the package or could have infact been Nokiadude's damage. but for god sakes be sure to raise a stink over 10 bucks on a torn DVD cover, holy hell thats complete trollage right there.

Leave him appropriate heat, and get over it.

if the DVD plays and the cover holds the DVD its NOT negitive feedback IMO, nutral is more like it.

As for the real question here: People post PM history all the time. It is not private despite the fact that it says "private messages". If he feels that he needs to post it then he can.

Now for the fact at hand. I assume he wants to post the PM history because in it you say the DVD is in perfect condition. But I assume you are refering to the DVD itself not the holder or label. If you specify that the label is good as well, then we have a problem.

But this is over a $10 DVD that aparently works just fine, but has a torn cover. The cover is not the DVD. The cover was not sold, the DVD was. Unless it was specified "like new condition in box" or the like, what is the problem?

For the most part, things in the FS/FT forum are sold "as is" in "working" condition. If it works, you have no cause for complaint.

Also, for the record, both of you are acting like little children.

masterxfob: Send me the damn DVD. I will buy it for $10. Problem solved. You have PM.

I remember a while back a member named lawaris posted his PM history between he and a female member ( I guess to prove a point about something). Anyways, his PM history was immediately editted out by a mod who responded "There's a reason they're called private messages."

Here The post by lawaris with the 3:02 PM time stamp.

Sadly, the definition of privat has changed since June.
