Every day I come on here and see people griping about women, jobs, school, roommates, what have you.

This board is turning into one big flame/rant fest and I wanted to do something about it. So here's my official UN-RANT.

I am happy.
I am in my last semester at USC, majoring in Psychology. My workload is incredible, verging on ridiculous. Six midterms down, twelve more to go, with 2 20-page research projects and lab writeups due in between. But it's keeping me busy and the fact that this is my ticket out of here makes it that much better. It's about this time every semester that I used to break down and go into a depressive slump, after which I drop the semester, but I'm glad to say that i've overcome my depression completely , without drugs, and all on my own.

I like my job. I am treated well, respected by my superiors and admired by my peers. I work hard, enjoy what I do, and do my best to appeal to corporate standards and maintain a high level of customer service. Unfortunately, I have to resign this month because of school matters, but I am invited back whenever I can work again.

I am geting along with my family better than ever before. From the time I was 17-22 I fought with my parents constantly over every issue imaginable. Since I am heir to the family business I've had to work closely with them over the past few months and have developed newfound respect for them in regards to the amount of work they do just to provide for me. I have every intention of returning the favor and supporting them both as long as they live. They have given me more financial support than I could ever have asked for, and I do not take it for granted.

My relationships with my friends are the best they've been. All my neighbors have a key to my apartment, and I have keys to theirs, so they're basically roommates. They have carte blanche to come in, borrow DVDs, use my computer, feed my cat, etc. We respect each others property. Heck, we even let each other borrow our cars. If any of us cook food, the rest are invited to help themselves, no permission needed. It's like one big family. :)

And to top it off, I have the best girlfriend ever. Only two months in but we know we were meant for each other, and others can see it when we're together. I could write volumes about why, but suffice it to say we've both been in our fair share of good and bad relationships but this blows them all away. This is what it's all about.

I know the jaded, bitter, nihilistic and pessimistic users here will have something to say about all this, but in my life, things are grand. I wanted to share it with everybody and prove that there are *some* people here who are happy with their lives.

That's awesome, amnesiac 2.0. I'm genuinely happy for you too.

And, I'm genuinely happy myself, but I am too tired to make a long post about it :).

That's nice for you :) The only real complaint I have in life is mine and mrsskoorb's employment situations, but other than that everything else is peachy. I complain a lot on AT but really I am quite happy as well :p

Ok on a more serious note, sounds like life is grand, enjoy it, and yeah that's what it's really all about. Sounds like you've found the "Brady Bunch" way of life, live it up.....

Give me some quality time with a bottle of vodka and schnappes and I'll be more than happy to join in your revelry. But until then, I'm depressed because I don't get to see my fiancee for three weeks. :(

And? My g/f lives in Colorado. I'm in California. I last saw her 2 weeks ago, and it will be another 4 until I go out to see her again. Once you realize that your loved one is always there for you, even if you can't physically be with them, the loneliness goes away.

Carpe Diem!!

Hey, glad to hear everything is so good. I can't say the same, but I think about it and it could be MUCH worse. I have my health, my family is healthy and we've got a roof over our heads, food on teh table and clothes to wear. At least we're comfortable.

:D
