that was horrible, daveymark.

why not put the ring on a greased pig and tell her to catch it. If she can then she's worth marrying.

I have a few ideas right now but I would like to hear how some of you proposed/were proposed to?

UPDATE****

I bought the ring sunday,
.7 carat
clarity vs2
premium cut
I color

I'm proposing in may.... where'd you buy the ring and how much?

That's your first mistake..
Ring should be no smaller than 1 carat.
Women likes to show off and compare.. 1 carat is acceptable to most occasions.
If it's less than 1 carat, the often feel inferior to other women..

Women are like that..

My woman's ring had 3 diamonds adding up to one carat I think....I've done well to forget everything involved in wasting a large sum of money on a shiney piece of metal.

If she had said the main diamond isn't big enough, I would have taken the ring back and rescinded my offer. I don't have time for that bullsh|t.

If you have to ask on an internet forum, you may not be ready.

Im not asking if I should get married Im asking if you guys have any clever ideas on how to ask

do you hereby promise to not: nag, be a complete pain in the ass, take all my money/assets, garnish my wages from here to eternity, sleep around, be a complete and utter bitch?

If so then sign on the dotted line of this now legally binding contract and you'll get this lovely ring.

I have no doubts that she will say yes, I just wanted to make it special.
Now I just have to hope Im home when the ring is delivered

This takes some thought and coordination.
Make reservations at a nice restaurant and tell the hostess what your intentions are.
Before you and her go out that day go buy a dozen roses bring them to the restaurant or i guess you can get them delivered to the restaurant...
When you arrive let them know who you are.
And have waiters and waitresses deliver 1 rose each till 11 of them are in her hands. then get up and go to the bathroom and come back with the 12th rose and get down on 1 knee and pop the ?

Yeah, man, don't do anything cheesy. Take her out to a nice dinner, maybe the theatre so you're both dressed nicely.

Take her home, and do the knee thing.

another vote for this. good luck man, and congratulations.

I had the diamond appraised today...
turns out its not as good a diamond as they claim, but its still a great deal on a nice stone so I'm keeping it
