I am going to make BREAD again

Decide my fate, ATOT. I have a breadmachine. I don't need anybody hatin' on me tellin' me that I'm a poseur because I use a bread machine, I do what I can with the resources that I have. All you bread elitists can go make your bread elsewhere, there's no need to hate on the users of bread machines.

So, what will it be? I have whole wheat flour and bleached flour, wheat gluten and various other things, bananas, raisins, cinnamon, etc. No rye ingredients though.

walnuts, bananas a pinch of cinnamon... mmmmm!!!
you may then send a loaf of the banana nut bread to me! 🙂

I have pecans and almonds, no walnuts. I'm thinking of doing mashed bananas in there, though.

Edit: Are breakfast cereals any good to include in bread? I have Toasted Oats, Raisin bran, and corn flakes. (IIRC)

I'm thinking banana wheat bread wouldn't work out so great... other residents of the house are on the South Breach/Fatkins diet and want wheat. How does banana bread get its dark color, anyway? Should I add molasses?

Add chocolate chips if you're going to make banana bread.

Noted, though I don't have a lot.

Hmm... peanut bread, anyone?

Well, I made some Banana-peanut bread, with pecans, almonds, chocolate chips, raisins, and roasted peanuts. It's baking now. I did is all from scratch, no machine this time.

Edit: Hmm... this leaves the breakmaker open for a load of wheat to satisfy the South Beach dieters, as what I just put in the oven is the antithesis of a diet.

Done, the bread was fantastic. A little dry, but good. Not as much peautty taste as I thought I'd get.

I still have a few cupcake/muffin dealies left before I slice into the bigger sheet of it- anybody want to buy some? I will ship USPS priority, or express if you want.

The wheat bread was good, although I didn't have any honey to put in it and neglected to use sugar, so the yeast wasn't as active, and made for a denser loaf that didn't rise as I wanted it to.

i add some whole wheat flour to banana bread when i make it, something like a half a cup or so, i could look up the recipe

but im lazy and dont feel like it, especially since you dont have walnuts now anyway

you should get a copy of Alton Browns Im Just Here for More Food

great book on baking with some great recipes.

So, are you saying sugar is a GOOD thing that helps the bread to cook?

If so, what a revalation!

I always thought sugar was bad, best avoided for more healthful eating.
