I am going through RMA request at Newegg and they suck.

I ordered a vga silencer revision 1 for my 9700 pro, and when tighting one of the 2 studs on the back of the card, the stud snapped so I returned it for an rma. I called them up and ask them to send me the old silence model which had diffenent way to attach the cooler and is cheaper than what I bought. First guy I talked to, said he had to ask, he never emailed me back, second guy I talked to, said no problem, 3rd guy I talked to today says absolutely not.

WTF
I am not spending anymore money at newegg, and I have to pay them sales tax and their shippng all adds up to lots of money.
Their customer service is going down hill, they must be making too much money now.

why didnt u just go with the second guy?

on top of that your requesting them to RMA you back a part that isn't what you ordered...what did you expect?

First of all they are willing to refund me, but I need a cooler for my vid card. I paid via money order and they have to cut me a check and I have to send another money order. Few years ago, they would just credit your account and you can order any part you want. The second guy said no problem but he was lying, he said he would but all he did was change my rma replacement status to refund. I just got the dam thing 1 wk ago.

So you broke something and you're trying to return it for a different product? Good luck with that :disgust:

I don't see why they suck when they aren't required at all to give you a refund or replacement on something you broke.

Why don't you just go ahead and buy the new one and then worry about returning the old one?

If you are so straped for cash that you can't handle fronting the 20-30 dollars, you don't need to be buying expensive computer parts.

Yeh it broke because it was defective, the thin stud, too thin in my opinion snapped while
screwing in the screw that has a stop built into it.

I wanted them to replace it with this
model because it has 2 thicker screws that go straight into the aluminum heatsink block itself.
I don't know why you guy are defending Newegg so badly.

I've never had a problem with them either. 😛

But i have that silencer 1 and heard about stories of the screws snapping... mines been fine though. 🙂

Dear Matt155:

Thanks for your purchase at Newegg.com.

I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that we are absorbing the costs of this transaction by offering you a refund. This is an example of why most of our customers appreciate our dedication to service.

Please understand that our replacement policy only allows for replacement of the same model, unless that model is out of stock. If you take this case up with Customer Support, they will more often than not make an exception for you. Just call (800) 390-1119 to speak with a Customer Support agent.

Thanks,
Newegg.com Webmaster

What you talking about my mistake, did you not read? I said the screw has a stop built into it.
That means the stud should not snap when I am putting in the screw. Tell whoever makes artic coolers to make the stud thicker or made with stronger tensile strength.

I've had to RMA items to Newegg two or three times. The closest thing I had to a problem was the guy said I wasn't covered under the warranty period, but I told him to check my order, as I had ordered the extended warranty. Then all was good.

Yea but that's not Neweggs fault. All they HAVE to do is give you the same, new product in exchange for a broken one, at your expense for shipping. If you don't like it, go shop at CompUSA or BestBuy. I'd like to see them even give you the time of a day for asking such a question of them.

If you have a problem with Arctic, go ahead and send them an e-mail.

My roommate had to get an RMA from Newegg three times within a month; all three times were successful. After the third time, it was discovered that the problem was not with their product but with his power supply. 🙁

I love how this "Newegg Webmaster" pops in to tell me "we LOST money from this transaction with you" then disappears. Well YOU lost alot more which I doubt you care anyway since you didn't even read my explanation of the defect of the above mentioned product.

I placed my order with you guys originally because of all the praise of your "customer service"
but tell me this, IF you guys are willing to give me a refund, why can't you just send me the other product I have requested, how hard can that be? It's cheaper than the original product I ordered, and it's in stock, you can keep the difference, but NO, that can't be done right.

Well I got more stuff to order before end of this year and I will be trying Directron. NO sales tax and they don't kill you on shipping.

Hey Bigj I don't want the same product because I believe the studs on the vga cooler is too thin and if this happened while it was in my running system, good chance that my 9700 pro would have been toast. Yes I will be going somewhere else and no, not bestbuy or compusa.

uh.... that guy wasnt REALLY from newegg you realize right? RIGHT??!
Matt155 your fighting a losing battle here... you are wrong period. Take it up with Arctic and RMA through them not newegg. I don't recall newegg killing ANYONE on shipping and you only get taxed because you happen to live in a state they have a warehouse in (By the intelligence Im guessing its TN) Edit: I see its the NJ from your profile. I stand corrected.

Im sure newegg, a multimillion $ company will miss this HUGE order(s) you will be placing... enjoy Directron.

Edit: some typos... Im sure I missed some too

Newegg shipping is fair -- they just don't subsidize shipping on $2 parts and make everyone else help pay for the small orders.

They don't have a choice about charging sales tax.

You're outraged that they won't jump though hoops to offer special handling of your return beyond the normal replacement, that's fine. You've offered nothing to convince me that "they suck" but you're entitled to your opinion.

Myself, I'll keep shopping there for the reasonable prices and great service. I  Newegg.

Well then ask for a REFUND and buy a new product with the money. Under no circumstances do they HAVE to exchange the product for you.

Dear Matt155,

Contrary to one of the subsequent posts in this thread, I am pleased to report that I am indeed a representative of Newegg.com. To clarify, however, the Newegg.com webmaster is not a single individual, but rather a contingent of web developers, programmers and support agents.

It is disconcerting to learn of the trouble you have encountered while attempting to complete your RMA, so to expedite resolution I have been authorized to supply -- within this forum -- a direct contact for you to communicate with. Your satisfaction is our number one priority so on behalf of the company I offer my sincere apologies for any inadvertent inconvenience.

I urge you to call or email William Lazaro at your earliest convenience so that we may rectify this situation as swiftly as possible. We look forward to working with you to achieve a solution you will be comfortable with.

Kindest regards,
Newegg.com Webmaster

Once you know, you Newegg.
