I am going be ordering a motherboard/cpu combo from mwave. have a quick question....

I am pretty sure that i am going to get the epox 8kha+ w/ an AMD2000xp.


-does the motherboards/cpu bundles come with a heatsink & fan?
-(usually) if you buy just a cpu does it come with a heatsink &fan??

I really couldn't tell you if the combo comes with a hfs .... it all depends on the vendor... some do some dont.

As for just buying a CPU if its a OEM then its just a bare Chip. If you buy a retail CPU then you will get a hfs.

I dont know about MWAVE, but I ordered a Motherboard and BOXED Intel CPU from www.adamant.com/ and they mounted the CPU and the cooler that comes in the box for free. Sometimes it is cheaper to order the boxed CPU.

I ordered a combo from mwave a while back and I believe it came with a HSF. I wouldn't plan on using it if I were you. They are pretty much as low performance and generic as you can get. I personally wouldn't use one if I palnned on keeping my CPU for more than a couple of days. I believe you have the option to upgrade the HSF and extend the warranty when you order.

The MWave bundles come with a HSF that is comprable (usually Coolermaster) to the ones used in the retail kits. Adequate if you aren't planning on overclocking.
