Meh...computer tech eh? Easy. Call up all the clients that really like you and do work for them for a cheaper rate than the business charged. 100% profit for you. Then just do consulting yourself...be your own boss. You could easily charge probably like $40/hr for onsite work for yourself and make more than you were making at the other place.

yeah, seriously, considering most professional companies charge around 95-100 for onsite techs.

What'd your boss say when he fired you?

me: I am a student and if I don't study for this test I am going to fail it. I was trying to reschedule these appointments and have every intention of going through with them.

him: I'm just not going to deal with it anymore

me: well, you gotta do what you gotta do. IT was a pleasure working for you. Bye
No insults, no nothing.

btw I was getting $15/hr when, sadly, I knew more than everyone else there with the exception of some aspects of server 2003 administration.

I was the networking guy

I was the hardware guy

I was the software guy

and yet others were making $20/hr

Screw them! You know all aspects so you should be able to work for yourself, make more and have more time for schoolwork. Good luck!

I will probably go back to being a math tutor ( at LEAST $25/hr)

Ah, but when goosemaster wasn't studying at work, he was logged in to Anandtech. He actually got fired for chatting all day long and not doing the job he was hired to do.

Just an assumption!

I don't understand why any company would pay an IT person close to $200k/year...

Good advice!
I do something similar to that. Gives me more freedom and I get to set up my own schedule.

that reminds me, my bio professor was tlaking about his mcdonalds job when he was a teenager yesterday.

Right after saying "I will not get insulted by a bunc of 18 year old punks", he told us that he got 'McFired' about 5mins after his boss said that to him..
