I don't understand the whole energy drink thing. They taste like crap, the couple that I've tried anyway, and they have waayyyy too much sugar, so additionally unhealthy.

Why not just drink some coffee?

Some of them taste good, and some of us like too much sugar. Also, pretty much every one of them has a diet version without sugar now.
I already drink 15-25 cups of coffee per week!

Heh, fair enough. I drink about that much too, but I just love coffee.

KT

I usually just have energy drinks during the summer on weekends when a hot cup of coffee doesn't feel right.

Ditto. If it's hot out, and I'm not drinking iced coffee, it'll be an Amp, Rock Star, or a Red Bull.

Because more and more are turning to a mixture of B vitamins and electrolytes as a source of energy and not just strictly caffeine. So while coffee is sucking vitamins out of your system, there are a number of energy drinks out there that are replenishing them. In addition, more and more energy drinks are using Splenda or aspartame so they have no sugar, no calories. I would never go so far as to claim energy drinks are healthy, but I think you can make the case that there are quite a few that are healthier than coffee.

Hmm, now if they could just get rid of the ass taste I may try them again.

Wow, looking at that link for the caffeine content chart, I never realized a grande coffee from Starbuck's had quite THAT much caffeine. Sweet lord, no wonder it does a great job of waking me up.
