Man i am tired with this stuff - 10 long years
Finally got my P5B Dlx/E6300/XMSC5 combo running stable at 3400. now to really sit back and enjoy...
In all this I realize that a lot has to do with tweaking RAM - once you find the best timings/volts you are good to go. I did put a s$it load of smaller fans in the case though to keep all the hot spots cool

Nope - only 1 120mm that came with case (Ntrix) - I used discarded AMD cpu fans (heheh) and of course my big typhoon is movng a lot of air around (oops that is also a 120mm)
Asus's fan glued on to NB directly
AMD fan glued on to big typhoon blowing on DDR2s
another AMD fan blowing on HDs (2 WD 20G in Raid)
Back case fan sucking out in additon to Seasonic PS fan
But still relatively silent compared to my Opteron system
