Consumer / mainstream line of notebooks, yes. Professional / business line, not so much.

Not that you would but don't buy Alienware either. Had a coworker back at NCIX who sold a few of those to some customers. One of them died after about 2 weeks and it was a NIGHTMARE for him to get customer support to replace the laptop. Of course the main reason is they are overpriced crap though.

At my old job they ordered 4 new business line laptops from dell. I know they spent around $1,800 for each. One showed up DOA and another the trackpad started acting funny a couple days later. Dell wanted to replace both with refurb models or we had to wait 3 - 4 weeks for new ones to arrive.

There is gonna be plenty of room. I was born very close to east asia

Born close to east Asia? Not even sure what this means. East Asia is a whole region, not sure it makes sense to say you were born close to it. Aren't you from India? BTW I know south east Asia somewhat. Lived in Malaysia as a kid.

1. Buy part
2. Replace your self
3. Profit.

Edit: Read more of the thread, quite the endeavor. F Apple, eh?

The P and Enter key on the laptop stop working and I need to replace the keyboard. The cost to replace is $400. I am going to cry. :'( Highway robbery.

Errr, what? Keyboards are modules that you can swap out pretty easily in most cases. I broke a key on my new Dell laptop a few years ago and bought a replacement off eBay for $25 or so and swapped it out in about 10 or 15 minutes.

EDIT: Just read it was a Mac -- which I suspected when I saw the thread title. LOL!

rofl @ mac users
as if I didn't have enough reasons not to buy macbooks, here's a good one. Thanks OP.

On a more serious note, no offense but a lot of mac products have always felt like highway robbery to me. But I guess people like the design/aesthetic and are willing to shell out for it. I know I'd be going unibomber if any computer repair (shy of replacing the whole damn thing) cost me $400.

I will never buy a dell again. Cheaply made crap. Whole laptop casing made from nothing but plastic. Even the hinges to hold the screen to the latop was made from nothing but plastic. Really low quality.

That is one thing I like about apple, they seem have high quality material and build.

Meh, if you get the complete care warranty EVERYTHING (except battery) is covered. We have had faculty spill drinks on them and we get the replacement motherboards. We have had people jam stuff into ports, replacement. Person closes the lid while there is a pencil still on the keyboard, smashed the screen... replacement.

Good luck finding that warranty elsewhere. There is a reason we are a Dell house, because for 4 years we don't have to worry about replacing the machine out of pocket.
