I dont see what the deal is with facebook. Myspace I can understand, its splashy, somewhat useful and otherwise very customizeable.

Facebook looks like something from 1996 and very limited and practically useless and fails compared to myspace. Search your feelings, you know this to be true.

You're one of those special kids aren't you? Seeing what your friends are doing is the whole point. If you think someone is doing it just to look cool, you aren't close enough to be their real friend anyway. Seriously who gets worked up about what their friend is posting?

actually, i think it's ok when my friends do it, haha.
when i see pics of other ppl who do it, they're losers.

u? u can continue to live in your crappy house on LI, driving ur POS rodeo, living your boring life with your wife and in laws.

Wow are you serious with this post? What are you 16?

1) So your friends get a free pass... ummm, ok. You're 14.
2) I love it here despite the ridiculous taxes like you mentioned in the other thread, but you pay to play. All those who are flocking to NC from here will face the same problems in a few years as they grow - natural progression. Anyway, you pay for the proximity to the city without having to live among them - you pay for the better schools... we're looking to upgrade to another house here too. I'd like to know where you're living that you can pass such judgment.
3) I drive the Rodeo once a week, if that. I drive the X5 everyday.
4) I love my life right now... my twins are making it awesome. Fatherhood cannot be beat, especially when they look at you with unending trust. Only my MIL is here and I'm very thankful as I would get absolutely no work done at home (yes actual work) if not for her. She does all the feedings and the cooking for us. We pay her like we would a daycare except we get a 2-for-1 deal and she does it every hour she's not sleeping.

One day when you grow up you will understand what's important everyday... don't get jealous of what others have going on in their life... or just stay off facebook so you can continue thinking you're the most awesome.

all it is a big superficial popularity contest trying to make oneself look cool

Well, we just found the most uncool dude in the thread!

You're so wrong I feel bad for you. 🙁

I think it depends on which friends you have. I'm still stuck in the 'old-school' facebook method - I don't friend anyone unless I know them in real life.

My SO, on the other hand, has turned hers into a myspace clusterfsck mess.

fb has messaging and chatting, and eleventy billion apps you can add. myspace is a diluted little whore used mainly by kiddies, bands and emo internet hermits. nothing says 1996 more than sparkling gifs and embedded music *gag*. if you're on myspace and not in a band, you should pretty much end yourself immediately.

Ugh.. most MySpace pages look like this, which is why FB is superior for anyone over the age of 16.

I just want to see what some friends/family are up too, and have a central place to check up and see pictures of nieces, nephews, etc.

Very good point. Then again I treated Myspace exactly the same so I guess just like any of these social apps it's really up to the user to control the experience. Don't want spam? Don't friend Jenna Jameson. 😛

I blame the iPhone for this... it's ridiculously easy to take a picture from your phone and upload it to Facebook right from the application in a few seconds.

At least with a computer, it gives you a few seconds to think "gee, do I really want to post that picture of my girlfriend passed out drunk in bed?" while you're transferring the files from your digital camera.

You're right.. First I should undress her and fix the lighting!

Guess you lost that contest huh

 Facebook is for keeping up with people you don't see often. Myspace is for middle schoolers and bands.
