I am confused....postop/preop

no, not that😛

I am planning on what kind of car I am going to get in a few months, and I just started to doubt my prime choice.

At least right now anyways, I found a 2002 Acura 3.2TL Type s for $12.5k and was sure that that was my choice, until someone brought the transmission up again for the billionth time.

Yes, it is an auto. 🙁

Honestly, I tell myself that I'd be willing to give it up, but everytime I get into my car and go to class [through the winddy (and fun😛) back roads of VA] I can't convince myself that I would ever give it up....

<----drives a POS 1990 Accord with a manual that he adores....yes, he realizes that it is a POS

Alas, I cannot think of any other car that would be as nice at that pricepoint🙁

So, please, weigh in🙁

Go with an auto. If anything, it'll be just as or more fuel efficient than a stick in the same car. And enjoy the ability to talk on the phone while you're driving.

<-- stick shift driver
<-- refuses to use his cell phone while in the car

For odd reason, I can drive while eating or drinking something, I can talk, I can follow directions and stuff, but I jsut cannot talk on the phone and guraentee anyones safety....it's jsut too damn distracting. I do it at little as possible, and if I get a call, I either stop, or tell them that I'll call them back later.

bascally, I'm worried that I will lose the acuteness that I have gained with a manual. Through the woods people are ewaving and acting crazy, and I, in my POS, am flawless🙁

No way dude...The TL is miles ahead of that😛

I'd consider something it it was at least somewhat as good😛

<---doesn't want a new car at all.

The question is, was the process automatic or just standard fare for those born in the restroom at Ceasar's palace in Las Vegas, NV?

😛

Repeat that again one more time for me...😛

I wouldn't worry so much about the transmission being an auto, but I would get it checked out before purchasing. The transmission in that gen TLs & CLs are problematic. They upped the warranty to 10 years on them and covered repairs/replacements/preventative maintenance, but make sure that warranty transfers and check to see if it's had a cooler or anything installed.

Aye.

That said, do you have any say on my other options?

Acura CL is out of the question...too ugly.

those only come in auto.

The TL didn't add a manual untill 2004.

OP - figure out what you want in a car and go find one.

Do you want a sports car or a sedan? The TL is NOT a sports car nor is the CL.

I would definitely like a sports car more, but like the luxury that the TL provides with me....

EDIT:
