for that price, why not just get a real gun and learn to use it?

because its not legal ? 😕

'm pretty sure you can buy a gun in all 50 states at 18.

Rifles and shotguns, but most states stipulate 21 for handguns. Now, depending on his state, he may be gifted a handgun, but he may not purchase one.

That's an interesting detail.

I saw some Airsoft guns at the local gun store recently, and I was amazed at how real they felt.
They had an M4, an AK-47, an MP5, and various pistols.

Yeah- some are cheap and plasticy, but others are indistinguishable to someone who isn't familiar- and even to someone who is, until you're up close to one.

I'd be more impressed if you were buying the actual guns. I have the Walther P22 and its a great gun to own. Cheap to shoot too.

.357 in such a small package. I wonder what the recoil is like.

manageable, but not a weapon I would own for self defense.

I can agree with the manageable comment, but not something I would want to carry for self defense either. I do own one of these which came from a family member who used to carry it in his tackle box loaded with snake shot, though from the looks of it I don't think he used it much. Plinking with 38 specials in it is not bad, but still not something I would want to shoot for an extended amount of time.
