I think you shoudl try all the suggested methods before passing judgment.

1--straight out of wrapper
2--microwaved
3--deep fried
4--deep fried + bacon

remember, to properly deep fry, you need a bath of peanut oil....

This. They do not really taste like anything. Should have just had some Tim-Tams instead, now those are pretty yummy.

Twinkies are pretty decent, the people going meeeh all have had them dozens if not hundreds of times over their lives. The 1st Twinkie will be an experience, and OP will probably enjoy it. I think if OP likes them he should step it up to Chocodiles. Which are basically a Twinkie dipped in chocolate. I haven't had one in a decade or something, but I remember I use to really like them.

This is most unfortunate as they WILL NOT live up to the hype. You know why people love twinkees? It reminds them of eating them when they were a kid. It's actually a boring item, but the memories?

USA's full of awesome, OP is from a country where it cost him $50 to get a $4 box of Twinkies imported. Which tells me they definitely don't have the huge selection of junk foods we do here. A Twinkie to me is whatever because I can things like a Lil Debbie Star Crunch or some Dunkin Stick or a million other treats. If I lived in a place where the snack selection was minimal I bet a Twinkie would taste like pure win to me. We're spoiled here in America.

With that said Hostess's Cinnamon Streusel Crumb Cakes kill Twinkies. Heat one of those up in the microwave for 10 seconds and spread some butter on top

On my last visit to America. A humongous box of Twinkies was placed into my hand luggage. I had someone eagerly awaiting them back in England *shrugs*..Thats what she asked for.

Chocodiles are delicious, though last i heard they are only available in the California market area.

Thankfully my dad works for Hostess, so we had a supply of them :biggrin:
