I am an idiot! Very Dissapointed. :(

I just bought a BFG 7800GTX from the egg and it sucks! I play cs source alot and i shimmer so bad even if i move my mouse next to a wall it glitches like a strobe light. Im going to return this POS and buy a X850XT instead. Nvidia is just terrible right now with there 7800 seris. i think the GTX in the 7800 means "Glitch To Extremes". I think Ati is definetly better than nvidia and this time Ati won my money. im gunna go buy a X850XT instead and not shimmer like a strobe light anymore.

just wait for the R520 .......I'm sure there are shimmering issues concerning with 7800 series. But I don't know where it was.

Don't get the x850 series if you have the money to get newer gen cards coming out 😕

[Rollo where are you?]

ive heard rumors that rollo is some kind of fanboi? what the hell is a fanboi?

I'm not sure...I never knew rollo as much. So far, he always defend Nvidia and bashed ATi (in my time being in Anandtech.com so far)

But he's cool

Yep... smells like troll to me.

Nobody who has an ounce of brain is going to be able to honestly say NVidia provides bug free products, but hell, nobody does.

I can't help you since I know nothing a bout nvidia. Getting others to help could be a problem as the well known problem you describe is pretty much hush hush or barely noticeable after the fix . Rollo says its a fix but it really isn't it must be a hardware problem . Good luck

Are you running in high quality filtering mode? It ciould simply be your driver settings. What driver are you running? Do you notice issues in any other games...just ranting?

I think he is trolling rbV5. While the shimmering can be noticed, the fact that it is like a "strobe light" is so far from the truth it isn't even funny.

If it is that bad you have a defective card, or are simply trying to start problems.

I thought all the little fanboys had gone back to school. It seems that ever year we get more and more posts like this.

No, I understand, but it could easily be a fubured installation just as easy coupled with someone not sure how to properly troubleshoot. Its easier to yell first, ask Q's later.

Then again, I just noticed his next thread 🙂 looks like someone got ahold of daddy's keyboard alright.

Man if you don't like nvidia just don't buy their products, don't be like Rollo and he's little boys. JEEZ!!!

Hmmm, i haven't seen his next thread.

*Sigh*, anytime now, all the little 14 year olds can go back to school.

But very true point, it could simply be a bad installation or something.
