if you are as good as u say u are then go to recruite and tell hm u have special trainning. Such as kung fu and etc and also that u have extensive trainning in mulitple different trainning. Tell him u will take on 5 special ops guys and will shoot any weapons that u tell him thatu can shoot. If you can pass both of the test kick 5 special ops guys and shoot any weapons with 95% accurace ask him if he would be willing to wave bootcamp requirement.

I'm a really good Quake3 player and I have a Glock 21 and a Remington 870 shotgun. The military said I was too old but maybe I can get hired on as a merc too?

P.S. I also have brass knuckles and a stun-gun if that makes it easier for the CIA to hire me as a merc.

To answer your questions:

The proverbial "powers-above" believe there are enough personnel in the pipe right now to meet defense obligations. If in fact they did not, then recruiting quotas would be raised and enlistment standards lowered. In otherwords, this is why it is so difficult for non-grads and others with various baggage to even get in to the military at this time.

Depending upon the specific intensity of the conflicts, we can fight two wars simultaneously with current assets.

What if N. Korea or another Arab nation starts something? The chances of N. Korea starting something are what I would term as "medium-to-low". The probability of other Arab nations directly entering the current conflict are low. However, infiltration into the theater of operations by some of their "Jihad, Jihad" screaming idiotic citizenry cannot be discounted.

Nukes are a last resort, and employment thereof must be carefully considered in conjunction with provocation.

Listen to me when I tell you this. You don't go outside the country on some "let's bust some heads" campaign EXCEPT for one of two reasons. The first reason would obviously be as a member of the military. The second reason might arise if someone pays a handsome sum for your services. Any other reason dooms you to failure.

Go see a recruiter.

Dyncorp, Bell, etc. personnel are NOT mercenaries - they're civilians maintaining military equipment.

not true. dyncorp, MPRI, vinnel, cubic, brown & root are just some of the private companies that work for the us military in just about every conflict they are involved in, and some we never hear about.

He is right, Mecernaries do alot of the execissive dirty work the U.S Goverment cant do legally.

unxpurg8d: Vinnell Corp. literally commanded the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) while retaking the Mosque in Mecca from radicals in 1979. During that engagement, they were shooting TOW missiles through windows in taking them out.

After giving it some thought, I'm not sure that I have any problem being labeled a "mercenary" - I'd be happy to support our troops with no monetary reward, but being paid to do it sure makes it a lot more pleasant.

That is so funny that someone brings up Soldier of Fortune. When I was in the 7th grade, I had a Social Studies teacher who was a mercenery in the summertime, I kid you not. Every summer he would go to some country and fight. One year he went to Nicaragua. And you wonder why our public education system sometimes ends up creating some real wackos..... Our class often would deteriorate into a discussion of his various methods of killing people.

Sorry, guess I should have elaborated more. Dyncorp and similar companies should not be considered merc outfits. They do a heckuva job fixing tanks and Brads though.
