I think they'd have a heart attack if they saw my place. I have a lot of clutter everywhere. I don't have food rotting in the livingroom or anything, but I will have a stack of dishes after a few days. Max dish load: 6 big plates, 4 small plates, 6 bowls, and up to 8 glasses - and assorted silverware. During the week, I'm away most of the day, so I do dishes on Friday. During the weekends, or when I'm home all day, such as during this week (no classes), I might do dishes every day, or every other day.
People do this anyway, if they have a dishwasher - the dishes just get stashed away in a place where no one can see them, but there's still a large quantity of dirty dishes there.
An unmade bed? Ever since I was little, I never got the point of making the bed look perfectly neat. I
sleep in it! That's the only purpose of the bed. The blankets are insulation. I don't care how they look when I'm sleeping. Besides that, when I'm asleep, the bed's made into a mess anyway. So, no sense in creating order for the sole purpose of creating disorder.
Based on the pics, your apartment is much neater than mine.
Not nearly as bad as this though.
