McMaster is supposed to be competent, according to at least a few regressives here, and he basically stated that there's nothing to make a fuss about, so stop making a fuss, and maybe find something newsworthy to discuss? Just a suggestion.

Right, got it. Administration says everything's cool, so we should just stare at our navels with the assurance that everything is perfectly fine.

From the report it sounds like Trump casually slipped the name of a city. Full stop, nothing more.
Alert the press, we have sources in... shall we guess... Raqqa? Such bigly revelations. Let's all spaz out over it.

You obviously didn't understand my post. I don't care if he gave them a field report that included Merkel's mother's recipe for bratwurst (slight exaggeration here). Aside from the actual intel, we broke a trust that is fucking key to future efforts in this area. People were put in jeopardy now, and likely in the future by what streams of intel this fuckup just cut off.

The deal is, by blowing things very much up and exaggerating this daily idiocy of the orange monkey, the WaPo and all the other "liberal media" don't exactly built credibility.

They dont care about credibility. The whole system is a farce. They are just throwing food to the sheep.

Making a fuss about nothing isn't helpful to that whole trust issue or the image of the US around the world. This is exactly what Putin wants. Amplify every little mistake or transgression. Discredit and weaken your own country. Have fun. Create a possible boy-who-cried-bear situation when something serious does happen. Or maybe people will be too fatigued or too aroused by then to notice. This has been upgraded from a suggestion to a warning.

These things aren't nothing, though. Just because it isn't an act specifically worthy of assassination/impeachment doesn't mean it shouldn't be addressed, discussed, or acted upon. Your argument seems to be 'I don't feel this is as big a deal as others seem to think it is so we should all just stop talking about it'.

You'll remember that in the boy who cried wolf, the boy got fucking eaten by a wolf in the end. To me, that's just as much a story about the town's vigilance faltering as much as it is about a boy lying.

Nah. If it were interesting then I'd be interested. http://Duh.ffs.wtf.ml.org/sigh-regressives.html

I think I may have accidentally hit on a point though. Save your outrage for something outrageous. I mean surely something really bad will happen in the next 4-8 years. Will you even be able to be more emphatic? Your heads will explode.

Sharing TS information with Russia regarding an intel source in one of their ally's enemies is something outrageous. Just because it's being shoveled on top of a pile of other outrageous things doesn't make it not outrageous.

This isn't even calling wolf, it's more like 50 kids in a village all actively fleeing from wolves while the population looks on, and you say 'we should really wait until something bad happens'.

Nah. I'm actually quite sensitive to outrage, and I don't find it outrageous. I'm probably the most reliable barometer there is (or at least whom I know). I think you went a little overboard with the bear/wolf shit. I doubt that it made any sense to begin with, though we can't really be 100% sure.

If you really don't think that Trump revealing TS (or at least TS indicators) to Russia regarding Isreal, given Russia's political leanings and alliances/actions in the middle east, is a problem, then your barometer is broken.

I am the barometer. Thanks for calling me broken. You don't know who I am, my circumstances etc, so I find your insensitivity/flippancy slightly offensive. It makes me question your motives for going after Trump, to be honest, since I find it hard believe that someone even slightly altruistic could be so mean-spirited.

I ask lets just pretend a President Hillary did the exact same thing. Had a meeting with the Russian diplomat, didn't allow US press in and the only pictures posted of the event came from Russia, then we learn that she spoke about very sensitive material at the meeting with the Ambassador present what would your exact thoughts be?

You're speaking of flippancy? While linking trump-riding-bear pictures and fake 'sigh-regressives.html' pages? You're right, I don't know who you are or what your circumstances are, but I can also state that I question *your* motives for attempting to dismiss this situation so casually. To what level would this have needed to get for you, the great barometer of your own world, to register as something being wrong? For him to divulge a specific name? Perhaps GPS coordinates? Or simply hand Isreal over to to a foreign power on a silver platter?

Still boring, I guess, but it would have seen far less traction in the press, and would have been less irritating, and would have been less damaging to the nation, as a result. So either trump is to blame, or you are (or both).

No, I don't think it was only one piece of information. Greg Jaffe, the reporter who broke the story for WP, told Rachel Maddow last night that he revealed information about "the plot, the location and other things" (exact quote) which could lead a smart intelligence operation to determine the source. All these details were left out of the story for obvious reasons.

I'm not talking about the press, I'm asking for your feelings if the exact same scenario played out with President Hillary

I find it funny that this thread started with even a liberal finding the latest absurdity too much to be true, and now we know it's absolutely true. When you're so bad that even your political opponents wouldn't think you'd sink to something, that's fucking bad.

Maybe that's the report you got from Fox News... But, This is funny. Let's all spaz out that Hilary's emails could have been hacked and some classified (not classified at the time) info may possibly be released. But let's not freak out that the intel community believes the President gave beyond Top Secret (as it's been described) info to the Russians on his whim. Yes, you at your keyboard is the determiner of how worrisome what he did was... Why the need for experts or an intelligence community when you make these decisions in your boxers.... Got it.

It's weird that this tech site message board warranted the hiring of Russian trolls.

I think my feelings were included in my response. I'd be bored/disinterested but less irritated, since there would be less fuss, and probably wouldn't have commented about it. It's hard to separate the attention from my feelings, innit? Yes, people who disagree with you actually have feelings. Maybe if you realized that sooner we wouldn't be in this regress.
