Call them Daniel & Henrik [Sedin] FTW........... oh wait....... your a Capitals fan...... Alexander [Ovechkin] & Nicklas [Backstrom] ;)

Cheers,
Aquaman [689.5 pounds]

we are having a Daniel, but only because I like the sound of it. ;) Alex was actually our 3rd choice, and not because of OV either. Interesting, don't you think?

Anyway, I hope all went well for JS.. hospitals have wifi, get on it.

Congrats!! My first is 5.5 months old now. It is a lot of fun.

The first few weeks are very hectic and you will be on little sleep, but it is well worth it. Just remember your wife is going to be going through a lot of hormonal changes and may freak out at the littlest things. I know my wife did (she had some bad post-partum). Just take it with a grain of salt and everything will be fine.

(Have fun with the first few diapers - they are NASTY).

hahahaha men and diapers! get over it! lol

anyways, its refreshing to see the men in here fawning over their children. makes me glad youre not all deadbeat a-holes.
great fathers ftw!
also, it makes me hopeful that my bf will feel that way about having a child of his own someday (before im 34 i hope) so he can experience what i have with my daughter and so that he can share with a child of his own the kind of relationship he had with his father before he passed away

congrats OP and if you have any questions, shoot me a PM. i have a near 4 year old and let me tell you, its a journey. a funny, exciting, scary, insane, otherworldly journey. and it rules

Looks pretty healthy - might grow to be bigger than you - better get an understanding of who's boss now while you still can.

I'd highly recommend a massage package. She'll be sore for a few days and will appreciate your "thoughtful" gift.

Being a relatively new dad myself (mines 14 months old) I can speak from recent experience. Its tough the first few weeks especially between you and your partner, bickering about who is going to get up to feed etc. but trust me, it only gets worse. They start moving, the crying gets louder and your life ceases to exist. The little things like going out to eat and going to the movies are gone. But honestly, I dont think I'd trade it

Good luck

8lbs is pretty normal size - my son was 8.1lbs when he was born last november.
