I already loved Western Digital

Yep, I love 'em too. I have a WD external on my desk and although it doesn't always play nice with windows, it has survived a lot of traveling and keeps going on.

I've been back and forth between WD and Seagate over the years. Mostly WD, as they seem to be a bit cheaper. No complaints, both companies make solid disks.

I really like their RMA process as well. Much easier than seagate's, for example.

Really? I think in my experience it has been easier, but Seagate isn't too difficult either. I used to call and say I work for IT and I already diagnosed the problem. Now let me ship it back ASAP. Oh wait... I think I requested advanced RMAs and Seagate would always honor it. I had 2 failed 7200.8s.

Hitachi honored my advance RMA too but it was a lot more difficult.

Eh, to me it sounds like they screwed up royally but at least they followed through and fixed the problem.

Every company uses a third party for rebates. How did WD screw up 'royally' in this scenario when they went above and beyond what they were required to do by issuing the rebates plus a pretty hefty coupon? Sounds like you don't like WD for whatever reason and feel an obligation to be bitter. This is essentially the textbook definition of good customer service.

No, and you don't know the first thing about running a business or acting in a agent capacity so don't screw with me.

Though you are right that WD did everything they could to rectify the problem after it occurred.I'm not being bitter I'm simply stating that they screwed up as well as their agent.

Internet tough guy...I'm scared.
