I almost just beat the odds of getting struck by lightning

As I was headed inside, I heard the storm in my area really kick it up a notch. The noises were incredibly loud and close. Just as I was about to go inside, I heard one of the loudest noises that my ears have ever experienced. About 20 feet away from me, I saw a MASSSIVE bolt of lightning strick a tree. My house is surrounded by a few massive trees. I am just so amazed at how close it was. I thought that I couldn't even hear out of my ear for a few minutes. How lucky was I? I had always that if you were that close to a strike you would be affected by it in some way, besides the unbearably loud noise.

I've been hit, well, almost hit. It nailed the ground about 20 feet away, and I was THROWN down to the ground. I woke up with my GF over me, her eyes were huge, and she looked like she was going to cry. Apparently my shoes exploded and I made some kind of seizure/convulsing sound. It was a wild ride.

It didn't hurt though, and afterwards, I felt fine. In-fact, I got REALLY hungry, and so we went out for Asian food.

To sum up, lighting bolts are delicious.

Nah, it was a couple years too late for that.

My arm hair did, my head hair didn't because I had a buzz cut already.

It was.. tingly.

EDIT: OH! Also, I felt a buzzing about 1-2 seconds beforehand, too. It was eerie.

No.

I was actually on the ground though. I was on the top step of my brick staircase. Maybe this had some affect on it.

Sounds like getting hit by lightning gives you an excellent sense of humor. Best post of 2007.
