I almost died this weekend.

I'm 17 and I drank too much at a party on friday. I had a .33 blood alcohol level. Would have died if i hadn't been brought to the hospital. I had never drinking enough before to pass out or not be able to remember the next day, and I had never had anything more then a mild hangover before. The wierd thing is that at the party i remember hanging out with some other people and drinking from a bottle of vodka. I dont rememeber being that drunk, cause i wasnt, and a remember the specific conversation we were having. And then i dont remember anything after that. I think i had a WEIRD or UNCOMMON reaction, where i lost "consiousness", and so i kept on drinking becuase i was not in my body. Supposedly i was acting pretty "normal" untill i passed out at the party. Then me and my friends left and my friend drove me home. (i dont remember any of this). My mom took me to the hospitol. I am fine now, except for a scratch on my face. I think i ended up drinking a little over half of a bottle of 80 proof vodka, but i hadnt eaten much all day and i dont weigh that much. My friend drank a whole bottle and he was fairly sober by the time he got home.

I didnt think i was doing anything especially dangerous, because i know others that drink hard alcohol. But for some reason I became unconsious of what i was doing. Maybe i had an allergic reaction to alcohol. I dont know. Anyone have any idea what may have happened, does anyone hear have the same problem where they lose all control or memory after drinking a couple shots and then keep drinking. Anyone hear had alcohol poisoning before. I dont need to be repremanded, im not gonna be drinking any more.

I have blacked out before. I ended up in jail for 6 months, could have been longer! Drinking hard alcohol is not something to mess around with. You are only 17, stick to beer.

my roomate blew a .345 and the cops just gave him a warning, he came home, and passed out. and woke up feeling fine..


.4+ is death, .33 is impressive to say the least

BS. I find this hard to believe. A cop would have automatically called an ambulance if he blew a 0.345. Also 0.33 is not impressive, it is stupid.

 
damn, im just trying to find out if anyone knows if their is a documented reaction to alcohol where the drinker loses all control after a couple of shots. im not seeking attention, i feel like a moron. i cant find any info on the web, so i thought maybe someone could redirect me. maybe im allergic to alcohol, the doctors were baffled by the way i was acting.

Definitely, unless you live around the most inept cops I've ever heard of. Anyone who blows a .2+ is a danger to society in my opinion.

i stopped breathing in the hospital, they had to shove plastic cords down my throat to force me to breath.

I'm not sure if anyone has actually documented this but its seen at parties. There's always one guy "who loses control" coz he's drinking too much, i think they call it being a moron, not too sure if thats the actual correct term but its somewhere along those lines.

You didn't have any wierd uncommon reaction or any of that crap. You drank too much and you passed out. That is all. You are lucky not to be dead. You need to start some serious counseling. Unfortunately your mom took you to the hospital and not the police or an ambulance as you would probably have recieved a citation and been required to do counseling. I have seen this happen many a time before working on an Alchohol Enforcement Task force. Don't try looking for why you are a wierd freek of nature or something. You just drank too much and you need to get help.


1. You are stupid and reckless. (Don't feel bad everyone was at that age)
2. You are not reponsible enough to be drinking alchohol (Don't try and argue you almost died and you are trying to come up with wierd reasons other than your own stupidty why you almost died)
3. You need help.

I remember first time I got really drunk... Not enough to die or have to go to the hospital. It was pretty fun at first and then my head started to hurt... I'm never drinking alot like that. 🙁

hmm, well by losing control, i mean sitting queitly drinking a lot, and not realizing what i was doing (i was not home up there). i wasnt acting weird or stupid like really drunk people are usually. at least when you act like moron, your friends know your drunk and can make you stop drinking. scary, makes me never want to drink again. but i just sat there queitly drinking.
