I was on Toradol...Mr doctor zim what do you think that is? the same drug they give to pregnant women when giving them epidorals and other spinal injections...look it up...and if you do please I ask you to exit this thread, because I appreciate your politness, but I really do not want to hear your sh!t because you do not like me...

thx for the suggestions and endearments all!

EDIT: when I feel better i'll take some pics of the yellow papers I took home from the hospital if it'll make you feel better zim

1. I know what Toradol is, but you posted:

About an hour I guess later they came in and said that my blood work and further labs were normal and they had to do a lumbar tap...I remember them giving me something else in the IV and I remember it was like i was dreaming but also awake...it hurt like a lot even with the pain killers...like an extreme pinch...

You sound too out of it to be having a spinal tap from what I've read IMO.

2. I don't hate you, but I'm free to post my opinion.

I read Lumbar tap and it brings back horrible memories.

I had the bad version of Lyme Disease when i was like 10 or something. It was further complicated by Pseudo-tumo-cerbrai (Not sure how you spell that) and a bad ear infection (which led to my ear drum bursting). After all of that the one thing that sticks out most is the spinal tap. Dear. Sweet. God. They didn't numb me (a little kid at the time) at all, they merely jammed the needle in and all that stuff. I got at least 3 a week for multiple weeks. At one point, (not knowing that being put to sleep made all pain cease) i fought off the medicene and flat out refused to go to sleep, willing myself to stay awake.

In all of that glad to hear you aren't dead, and sorry you had to suffer through a Spinal Tap (even though you were asleep).

-Kevin

When was the last time you read about a "Spinal Tap" while the patient was asleep Kevin?

Well rereading the post, i kinda skipped a couple parts as i was skimming along. It turns out he was more drugged up with painkillers. My bad. Well at any rate it hurts :p

Gamingphreek, I think you need to research "spinal taps," and realize how "alert" the patient needs to be for this 15-20 minute procedure ;)

son of a noob, glad you are feeling better

zim - for this type of situation the spinal tap will take 2-3minutes if the dr gets in between your vertabraes and you don't have to be that alert, i had one done when on a lot of demerol, you just need to stay still. the drs at first thought i had spinal meningitis

son of a noob was having pain with this probably because the dr was hitting the vertabraes and not the are between them, i had the same problem as the 1st dr that tried to get a spinal tap on me hit the vertabraes about 20x.

If all goes well a lumber tap can take less than a minute. If the patient is fat or has calcified ligaments it can take much longer to find the dural space.

Toradol isnt habit forming actually, it's a similar drug to ibuprofen
