I recently returned from an 8 day trip to Italy with my closest family (mom plus sister's family) - Venice three nights, an absolutely stunning hotel in the Dolomites for 4 nights, and then one more night near the airport. Venice - just mind-blowing.
As someone put it in the Italy subreddit - there are multiple very beautiful cities in Itally, but there is only one Venice in the world. Bourdain called it the most beautiful city in the Western world. From my far less travel experience, I'd have to agree.
Just stunning beauty around any given corner. The car-less environment with the canals snaking throughout, narrow streets and plethora of squares, buildings with entrances on the water - it was magical. A fairy tale city.
Also, fuck Bezos! Although we missed his wedding by one weekend, still, fuck that biotch!
Didn't take many photos with my phone, focused on using my M43 setup when I did shoot, and haven't edited one of those yet - but here's a typical tourist area venice scene, and the views from our hotel in the Dolomites, which had a very well-heated infinity pool looking at this view on the right side of the photo. It was absolutely bonkers. Being a very german influenced area, my god, the beers were so good.
