I absolutely LOVE god-fearing criminals

You know, the ones who commit some heinous (or not so heinous) act and than prattle on and on about how God is going to get them through it and I Can Do All Things Through Him Who Strengthens Me yadda yadda yadda.

Two recent local examples:

1) Dude with an extensive criminal record runs over a cop and leaves him for dead. Cop is one of those old-school beat cops who is widely respected locally. Dude goes on the lam for a while, finally turns himself in, but has been updating his facebook in the meantime with such gems as

"Thank you Lord Jesus for showing me "Me" it's a hard pill to swallow...when you are feeling some kind of way and things aren't the way you know they should be sometime its "You" He want to change not what or who's around you; when you ask for it get ready it... However, it is the best feeling once you accept it and a burden will be lifted from your soul. Whew! I feel good!"

2) Idiot asks to see an $1800 puppy at a local pet store and then makes a run for it. Mensa candidate that he is, he drops his cell phone in the process. In the time between the dognapping and his arrest, he's on facebook denying involvement and, of course, giving God props. You know, because God teaches us that the meek shall inherit the purebred Maltese puppies. 🙄

In the man’s most recent Facebook posting, written Monday, he said, “I’m more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ, and he's gonna bring me out alright. It's amazing grace that’s brought me safe thus far, and grace is gonna lead me home.”

Cliffs for the lazy:

There's a local rapper here (surprisingly not too bad either, if you're into that sort of thing). I friended him on Facebook because I heard his posts were quite amusing. I was not disappointed. He went from "I'm O.G., no one fucks with me. I'll kill ya, fuck yo' bitch, smoke yo' weed, etc., etc.." to God fearing once the cops (same cops he claimed fear him mind you) picked his ass up and he spent 90 days in jail.

Somehow he had Facebook access while in jail and every day it was talk of him being a changed man. How now he was Godly and a family man, and how "He took care of his". It was WAY over the top with God everything. Even saying he was converting to a "real" Christian rapper. No more talk of drugs, sex, crime, bitches and ho's. Not a week after he was out it was back to rapping about drugs, sex, crime, bitches and ho's.

I love Facebooks entertainment value sometimes.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Just because someone is a Christian does not mean they are perfect. The difference though is the non Christian is going to go to hell for his sins, the Christian has been saved by his faith. Christians don't try to be good because they don't want to go to Hell. They do it in obedience, just like everyone who obeys the law.

I like the way your god discriminates a person based on his faith. It is also funny to know that you will go to hell according to Quran. Just saying.

I remember when Michael Vick "found Jesus" after he got into trouble and was trying to gain sypmathy from the court and public.

He "found Jesus and axed him for forgiveness."

Why would he assume that Jesus needed him to ask for forgiveness? It's our society that gets all up in arms over what people do to dogs. It's unlikely that Jesus gives a damn about dogs.
