Back when I worked at help desk we had some customer domains with them, and we were trying to consolidate with Enom and they gave us a LOT of grief trying to transfer out. Some of them they simply did not let us. Somehow they can get away with breaking ICANN rules because they are so big. That was my first experience with those assholes. They have very crooked ways of operating to ensure they don't lose customers.
Fast forward to recently when I won a domain in an auction. Unfortunately the auction site used Network Solutions. They immediately sold all my info to spammers and I was getting non stop phone calls the day the domain got transfered. I had to turn off my cell because even on mute the LCD was just constantly lit from the calls coming in. It was ridiculous. This lasted about a day or two. I still get the occasional one but it slowed down.
To make matters worse, they have a 60 day hold period so I was not able to transfer out the domain. I finally hit that 60 day period the other day. Most registrars will just tell you the authorization code so you can transfer out... oh but not them. No, they make you wait another 3 days to get the freaking code. Also they've been flooding my inbox with spam from the very beginning, it's just unbelievable. Thankfully the spam filter gets it. When I look at my spam filter it's all I see is spam from Network Solutions, trying to sell me SEO crap and all that.
I freaking hate those assholes, it's crazy how such a scammy and crooked company can remain in business. I can't wait to get that domain out of that scammy place once and for all.
Is it just me, or has anyone else ever had to deal with these guys?
