24 hours ago i hadn't even ordered anything... right now its on its way, and its still cheaper, shipped, than anything i could have gotten locally after rebate. what did we all do before we had them and googlegear?

i can get to the main page. but when i tried to check of the status of my order i placed yesterday i get that same msg.

I had really excellent customer service from them when fedex ground lost my order :| Newegg had a replacement out in no time.

And good idea on setting up the old box. So many old games that won't run properly on W2K / XP.

Someone should make a KVM with built in single-chip 386 / 486 + soundblaster pro + VGA, plus 32-64 MB of flash for the disk. DOS gaming heaven in a zero-noise ultra-small box 🙂 and Wing Commander 1-2 pre-loaded 😀

Yeah, they were great on my AMD 386-40 though 🙂

I was assuming my DOS-KVM would allow multiple clock speeds, say from 66 MHz down to 16.67 MHz.

its the linksys one. theres no switch on it so i believe it uses a combination on the keyboard. it was $43 so i'm not expecting much, but i'm only playing old games.

PS: tie fighter is also muy fantastico! I read about games allowing you to give instructions to your AI mates, and I says "wait, couldn't i do that like ten years ago in tie fighter?"

I ordered from newegg for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and they were suprisingly fast, especially considering that I ordered with the pre-paid check option. They had the order shipped within a few days of receiving my check, and fedex brought it all the way from CA to IN without damaging it.

As luck (and my stupidity) would have it, the processor (Athlon XP 1700+ T-bred B) that I ordered didn't want to go down on my KT133A motherboard, so newegg got another order from me a few days ago (Epox 8RDA among other things). 😛

Newegg gave the wrong address to Fedex in my most recent order (I'm still waiting for it to arrive 🙁). The order confirmation from Newegg has the proper address in it though, so I don't know where they went wrong.

I've never had a problem with them before though, and I guess this couldn't be considered a huge problem as it is. I still don't have the parts so I can't confirm anything yet tho.. on that note I better knock on wood because I might have just jinxed myself...
