I grew up in Vermont and saw enough snow to last a life time. I moved to L.A. nearly 20 years and never looked back. I haven't really seen snow since.

Well lets see, the first 8 years of my life was in brazil and cuba. I then moved to Florida and haven't been out of this cursed place in 11 years. So that makes 19 years of not having seen snow

Half my family came from Northern Spain (where it definitely snows) to roll cigars in Ybor City and the other half came here from Cuba (blood got a little mixed along the way, you know? ). My Abuelita was born in Cayo Hueso... Key West, a real conch.

I grew up in Tampa and endured being called a 'dirty Cuban' by the great unwashed. It was hard, but I survived.

Been here now for a few generations... (since the turn of the century... 1900 or so) My dad was a paramedic in the Korean War, though. He says snow sucks!

I don't know about you people from Florida Guess you'll have to rent a snow making machine and a walk-in freezer and make your own.

I cannot contemplate life without snow, and am surrounded by many others like me where I ski. Two of them are paraplegic, and ski on ingenious contraptions consisting of a small fibreglass bucket seat mounted on a single traditionally-shaped ski, complete with an oil-filled shock adsorbing system. Both of them race as well. We also have blind skiers visit regularly.

I point this out to demonstrate that I am not crazy, or at least not the only crazy one. There are many of us who will do almost anything to get to the mountains and the snow. We MAKE snow. We formulate additives to raise the melting temperature of this artificial snow.

I realize it ain't for everyone, but if you get the chance, go skiing.
