Ordered around 5am on the 8th, it came on the 16th but didn't have time to get it setup until today (the 17th).

I was worried that I'd have a hard time adjusting from my wide angle UXGA laptop screen, as this 19" monitor runs @ 1280x1024 whereas my 15" laptop does a beautiful 1600x1200. Losing the screen space wasn't fun, but its much easier to read small texts. Other than that I've been copletely impressed. The contrast, brightness, and response time are all MUCH better than my laptop, which is perfect for gaming, of which games look absolutely gorgeous.

The monitor not only provides great images to look at, even when its turned off it looks great, the thin frame is clean and slim. This monitor looks and performs far better than its price. Its only real "weakness" is the viewing angles, which aren't bad, they're just not friendly for other users not in a good viewing position. Of which the monitor does a great job making sure you can set it up just right with height and angle adjustments. Unless you're counting on this monitor acting as a TV for several people to use at once, its easily offers the best bang for its price range.

Looks like Hyundai has changed their replacement policy since that article at Tom's Hardware was written. Here's Hyundai's reply to my inquiry about their current dead/stuck pixel replacement policy.

"Dear sir,
Unfortunately our Pixel policy is 5 or more Dead pixels. Even with today's
LCD technology can not approve 100% LCD perfect LCD panel. Less than 5 Dead
pixels is not a defective one under the hyundai imagequest warranty policy."

Guess I'm stuck with 2 stuck pixels. I'd also like to thank CompUSA for letting me know by email today that I received the monitor yesterday. On the positive side, they haven't billed my cc yet.

And here's a dumb question. Does anyone know how to remove the base without destroying it?

If you find out how to get the base off, let me know too.

I will probably sell mine. It's a great monitor, but I don't see any improvement over my LG L1720P. I guess my next upgrade will be 20+ 1600x1200.

And to the people who keep mention no CC charges yet. SSShhhh....CompUSA people may be reading this. Let's hope the bill got lost with the other paperwork :)

Anyone interest in this monitor, PM me. My cost plus shipping to you.

Well a nice surprise when I got home today! And NO DEAD PIXELS!!

Now I have to figure out how best to configure this baby. Going from a 17" CRT to this - boy is it big and bright!

This has taken on almost comical propotions. Without getting too pedantic, I have to say that I was searching for this monitor when I stumbled across this forum. I too jumped on the CompUSA bandwagon.

Ordered it the evening of the 7th, and my receipt proclaimed "usually (oh-oh - weasel word!) ships within 3 - 6 business days". On business day 7, I fired off an email to our friends at CompUSA. Needless to say, there has been no reply. I came back to the forum today and read all of your trials and tribulations. Hilarious. I became a little ... um... (upset? it's OK to say that, right?) when I realized that some of you who ordered your merchandise later than me had already received it. Squeay wheel, I figured.....

So, I called our friends at CompUSA today and spoke to a CSR (not naming names, but it started with a "J" and ended with an "eremy"). After I gave my order number, there was a pause while he looked it up - then a distinct chuckle -
then back on hold.

When he came back, he informed me that this unit was a huge problem, because they sold over 300 units in 2 days. Furthermore, every 2 to 3 calls to customer service were in reference to this item (WAY TO GO!). My unit had not yet shipped, but would ship today (right) or by the latest, Tuesday, because they were expecting 120 units then.

So I sit here and reply to you all on my 19" no-name CRT that I bought... how many years ago? Don't remember, but I payed $600 for it then, and it was a great deal!

Good luck to the rest of you!

Okay, im glad i found this forum, these guys are complete idiots at compusa, never again with them.

anyhow, i still want this monitor, and i too was weary of the l90d manufacturing number, and the guy said 'yah apparently its the l90d, so he canceled my order. but NOW i hear that you guys are getting the proper orders, and im wondering if its worth me hassling them to say i want to go through with the order. and when i say hassle, i mean I'M the one always making the calls to them, they never send me the emails or anything or let me know whats going on unless i call the specific guy i dealt with. anyhow im in canada so i requested international shipping which i got approved for, but let me know if this looks similiar to what you guys had for order and whether or not i should go thru and take my chances and see if its the l90d+ that i get....heres what the despcription looks like (price seems different from the price they advertised) but the item number is exactly the same, im wondering if the price is different because it IS the regular L90D, or if its just some weird error, let me know what u think boys.

Dude, have some self respect and order from someone else. The price difference is not worth the hassle. Oh, and I'm sorry you got screwed over by these jokers.

Hang in there.

show me the path to self respect, cause canada gets no respect, so im VERY limited, these monitors don't exist in 'america junior'

Rick, you made me cough pepsi through my nose... THAT HURTS! Do ya have any relatives or good friends in "America Senior"? Can't see it in stock anywhere that may provide international shipping. =/ I know, not much help, sorry.

It's like 10:00am here on Friday the 18th. I ordered this puppy on Monday the 7th. Do the math. I still haven't recieved it, but our friend Jeremy assures me that I will get it by 4:30pm this afternoon. If I had ordered this from the egg yesterday, it would have been here by now.

Do you think the price will come down eventually? How do these things work, typically?

Here's a great idea: if you get your monitor delivered and the order still says "Open", go ahead and cancel it. Maybe it will force them to get their systems in order.

I got mine a few days ago as well. It's better than the 2001fp I got a month ago (and returned).

It does have 1 dead pixel in the upper right, but pretty much impossible to notice

I know this "deal" is basically over but I have been searching for a lcd to replace my 21 inch crt (viewable 19.1) 80lb beast here for a while, specs wise this model looks great, and I can't imagine the size difference, i need room on this desk so that would be awesome to get a lcd!

I don't even mind paying the current $400-$430 price range from newegg & other vendors (altho I wish I got in on this when they were cheaper), soon I may dive in and just get one, anyways I have a few questions I am hoping you guys can help me on.

First off I have an ATI ALL IN WONDER 8500DV video card with tv tuner - will this card output the digital signal to the monitor (and will this monitor accept and work with this card) thru the cord they give you with the monitor vs hooking it up via the standard analog 15 pin thing (sorry not so versed on all the technical jargon so I may have gotten the tech terms wrong), but will hooking that monitor up thru digital cable off my ati card work and if so will it look better than the 15 pin type cord currently used on my 21 inch hitachi superscan 811 21incher?

Lastly, I keep hearing everyone talk about "dead Pixels" what are they, can they be fixed and how much do they annoy you during everyday use (surfing web, emails, etc), once I get a lcd what do I do to test and see if any pixels are dead?

Thanks for any input and help on this, yeah im a newbie to lcds and the jargon...

Bill :)

dead pixels are pixels that do not work or are stuck on one color. They're usually not noticeable and not worth returning a monitor over unless there's a few or they are in bad positions (the center for example)

They can't be fixed

to test, view a white screen then a black screen. If you don't see any, you're good to go

Hey guys. First time poster here and I jumped on this deal when it was first posted. Here's my story and I need some advice. Thanks. I ordered the monitor on 2/7/2005 8:27:59 AM. Didn't receive a shipping email or tracking info. Finally the monitor shows up 2/15. First, i received an email later that night (round 9ish) that my monitor was "shipped". Second, it was the wrong monitor! I received the same one somebody previously posted. A Hyundai L70S. I called up CompUSA and they said they would email me some RMA info. It finally showed up two days later. Now there's my story. This is ridiculous. Now for the advice if you will. My credit card has yet to be charged. Should I send the monitor back now? Use the monitor for a bit and then send it or just hold onto the monitor indefinitely until if/when the charge finally shows up? Thanks a lot for the help and congrats to those who did eventually get the right monitor.

Not sure if this was posted yet, a lot to read in here. If you still need convincing, read this: http://graphics.tomshardware.com/display/20050215/index.html

I have had one for a few weeks now and I am 100% satisfied. This monitor rocks! No dead pixels, excellent color and absolutely no ghosting. It is a steal below $400, nothing else comes close in specs or quality for this price.

A friend received his two days ago, one dead pixel. Another friend ordered one today, this is the hottest monitor on the market right now.

Send the L70S back without opening it. CompUSA screwed up.

To add to the comedy of errors CompUSA has made, I received an email from them this morning stating that my monitor has shipped today. I received one from somewhere? (no indication on the box from whom) on the 16th. Hey, maybe I'll get another one. Yeah, right.

Rick, bfulford7, and jazzman161,
Sorry to hear you got screwed.

jazzman161,
I agree with Nessism, don't open the box, get an RMA, and send it back for a refund.

Yea I think that's the safest bet. I hate to get ever more screwed over then I already am. bfulford7: what do you mean "until they refund you"? You said you weren't charged. Sorry, a bit confused by that. Thanks for the advice guys.

Multimedia Monitor

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

80475162 California E-waste $8.00 1 $8.00

Kind of funny really. CompUSA came though on the deal but they clearly don't have a clue regarding how to conduct e-business. Very strange considering the size of the company.

At any rate, I'm happy.
