Hyundai Genesis Coupe to start at 22k.

I'm interested myself, but will probably wait a while to see how reliable they prove to be. I'm expecting good things honestly.

Tuner types and gearheads will probably be most interested in the newly announced mid-priced 2.0T R-Spec model ($23,750). Hyundai has chosen not to make the R-Spec a stripped-out lightweight performance model. As such, the model still includes things like the aforementioned six-speaker stereo, air-conditioning and remote keyless entry, but the 137-mph coupe also gets Hyundai's full compliment of performance hardware, including uprated Brembo brakes, stiffened suspension, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and 19-inch gunmetal alloys wrapped with summer tires.

For under $24k that's a hell of a nice deal. With employee pricing I could probably walk away with it for close to 22k.

Good job Hyundai. They rumored these to start at 30k. I thought that was far to high. Never expected them to drop the price by almost 8 grand.

These things are going to sell very well.

Good price but the interior is absolutely terrible, about 4 steps down from the Genesis sedan for sure.

yep. i sat in one at the philly auto show. the interior isn't bad per-se but it's absolutely nothing compared to the genesis sedan which was like sitting in a lexus.

I'm not a fan of their interiors in general, go sit in a Santa Fe and tell me you like the interior, you're getting basically the same thing here. Feel the switches and buttons, they suck.

Make it 25K with an interior that's on par with the sedan and they'd have a winner.

thats a tough one dude. for that price, there had to be a compromise somewhere. and again, the interior isn't as bad as you say. have you sat in one yet? read my previous post- and im very picky about my interiors.

Damn good price.

Who else, however, is waiting for the current circle jerk fest about the Genesis to subside? It's like the second coming of Christ to read about it.

Hyundai's come-uppance in the last 5 years has been nothing short of astouding. If this is anything like the 2006 Sonata, it will be a huge winner and reliable to boot.

Also, I ratherlike the interior. I think the waterfall dashboard/console looks very classy.

For all the hoopla you'd think there would be more of them on the road. Especially with that zero liability guarantee if you lose your job that they're offering.

I've seen a total of 1.

Granted it's a knock off of the 350/370 / G35 / G37 but let's wait to see some true road tests when it's out and if they come back good, props to Hyundai.

If the LOADED version is 29k, then that's going to be hard to pass up versus a comparable G37 / 370Z which would come in at above 40k for a fully loaded model.
