Hyundai Elantra GT

So I just picked up a 2002 Hyundai Elantra GT with 29,000 miles(31k left on the warranty). My impressions? For the 10k I payed for it it's a damn nice car. The only place where it lacks a bit is horsepower, but that's standard for it's class. I mean it's amazing what you get for the money. Leather, Sunroof, ABS, Traction control, alloys, fog lights, rear windshield wipers, a real decent 6 speaker stereo. Edmunds ranked it as their economy car to buy, so look out for this one, the koreans seem to have made a real nice solid car.

Agreed. I had one for a weekend rental. I was impressed with the quality for the price. The fuel economy was lower than other econo cars (or it was me beating up a rental...). But overall it had plenty of standard features that would cost thousands more than others in class.

That's exactly it, I mean it has a 4 wheel independent suspension and even a little trip computer. Everything I read seems to make it real reliable. Fuel economy is less though, I think its because it has a 2.0 and not a 1.7 like the civic. The upside is it has more low end torque and more horsepower then even an EX.

I always liked it, especially the hatchback. Definitely good value, especially used since Hyundais depreciate so much.
