Hyrule Warriors

I don't own a Wii-U but I am considering buying one just for this game.

That is my thoughts.

But I have bought every Dynasty Warrior since 5 because its one of the few games my wife will play co-op with me, and I love Zelda spin offs (I think Link's Crossbow Training is a top 5 regular Wii game).

Wii U is a great system for couch co-op. If you want to play with a few friends at home, it is an excellent console.

I've never played a dynasty warriors game. I might pick it up once it gets below $50.

Dynasty Warriors is a hack 'n slash game. You, the main character, are practically invincible and you just mash attack through literally thousands of peons then fight a "boss" that is pretty much just mashed through. Mindless fun, and people love it.

It's quite obvious that you have never pursued Lu Bu! :colbert:

Tell that to my brother-in-law, who has been physically assaulted by my sister during sessions of Mario Kart 8.

I am convinced that Mario Kart should be rated M solely because of the foul language that results of it.

Hyrule Warriors looks like it has great potential for couch co-op. I'm actually looking forward to when it comes out, even though I haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game since the PS2.

I guess a good factor in this, is that some of the people I'd play co-op with are female fans of the Zelda series, and they'll have some fun female character options to choose from.

The game looks D: to me. Then again, I like Zelda and dislike Dynasty Warriors. I don't know who's supposed to be more alienated.

There's a demo available for Hyrule Warriors at my local GameStop (you can see where one is for you at Nintendo's official site). I think the weirdest thing for me is that you can't jump in Hyrule Warriors, but I'm pretty sure I remember being able to jump in Dynasty Warriors. Although, it's been a while, so I may be confusing it with most other action games. 😛

Other than that... it plays like a Dynasty Warriors game... for the most part. The biggest difference is probably that the boss wasn't just some hack-n-slash fight. It actually required a specific mechanic to take it down...
when the big lizard opens its mouth to breath fire, you have to hit ZR to toss your bombs into its mouth. That will knock it on its side and put up its weakened armor icon thing.

I don't think you could jump in Dynasty Warriors. Although, you can in DW: Gundam (and, for a small time, hover), I think that was a new addition. Haven't tried the demo, but I doubt I will be getting this on release. Unless something seriously worth the price of the Wii U comes out, I will likely be missing this one entirely.

That site says that the demo is at 4 places in-town for me: 2 GameStops, Best Buy, and Target. I doubt I get this (not big on Zelda, never played Dynasty Warriors), but I might check out the demo.

Been playing Dynasty Warriors 8 on the PS4. Wish this could come to the PS4, don't really want to buy a WiiU for 1 or 2 games.

Oh well. Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (AKA Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate) came out for PS4 in the US at least.

I just got the Wii U last week when the Mario bundle came out... didn't really care to wait for a deal at the time but it figures there is one this weekend. $25 off plus another 10% at Best Buy with a movers coupon.

Ah well, sometimes you pay for impatience 😉

Either way I don't really care for this game for some reason. I just want the real Zelda!

Even though Nintendo published it, I can see it getting a big price drop in a couple of months. It looks cool but everyone wants the Zelda game they showed off at E3.
