Is this hypothetical room some sort of allusion to a country that gets taken over by socialists? If so, you might want to alter the imagery slightly, by placing say a dozen of them in that room. I'd like to see them try to vote themselves more free stuff while being trapped in that room. I bet all the mindless harping over that orange guy would stop right quick too.

The capitalist analogy to that is you have 12 people but only one of them gets food. The others get the crumbs. 😛

the answer is: nothing

this is a logic problem, and our brain tends to fill in the gaps, but this is not immediately evident.

if i was a real person, in a real locked room, my behaviour would stem from what's outside of the room, not from what is inside. since this is a hypothetical, the elements which dictate how you would behave, are not present in the problem.

I would look around twice so I could see what I saw. I would use the saw to cut the bed in half. Two halves make a hole. I'd climb out the hole.
