Hypothetical question on W2K, Server, Advanced Server

This might be a dumb question, but:

As a standalone operating system, what would be the advantaged/disavantages of running W2K, Server or Advanced Server by itself. I know that besides 'feature overkill' and initial $$$, but what else would there be.

Oh, by the way, I don't have any of these programs at my disposal. This question came up during a discussion between a few friends.

standalone there would be no advantages only bonus i could see whould be running a VPN and RRAS creating users locall would be a pain it would be slower than 2k pro due to larger footprint and more services. i spoe youd be over the IIS 10 connection limit if you were goign to run a webserver other than that none really :)

If you need >4G memory or 4 processors (I'm pretty sure 8 CPUs needs DataCenter Server) you need Advanced Server, but that's about it.

If you don't install any of the server features (DNS, DHCP et al.) there won't be many differences between Server and Pro. With sufficient tweaking, server will be just as usable as pro.
