The OP should explain the upside to opening the bottle

If they're sterile, maybe the op thinks he'll be able to score without getting anyone pregnant?
seems like OP is making a big assumption

The moral question here is whether you value the sterility of a European city over the lives of 5,000,000 viral cells.

More like infinite number of lives over the lives of 5,000,000 viral cells

No lives would be lost if you open the bottle.

yeah this is dumb. eventually it would cause all women to be sterile. yeah great lets kill off the human race.

yeah. but side efect is it causes all women to be sterile. wich would lead to the end of the human race.

If opening the bottle would make the women in the OP's family sterile, then yes. He doesn't need to breed.

They are sports fans on the plane. So they are all Men. No harm done 😉

I think it's some joke thread that wasn't exectuted very well.

no, "The virus spreads very easily from human to human". Also there are pretty much guaranteed to be at least some women on any plane.

A World Cup championship is waaaay more important than the ability to produce life.

True, but that's not at stake here--the World Cup will go on regardless of whether or not the bottle is opened.

Actually, simply for the sake of future World Cups, the bottle should not be opened...

So, is it something like a 72 hour kind of virus? If so, then open the bottle...that way, the sports fans can have a good time without having to worry about getting some random girl knocked-up an having to pay child-support for life...WINNAR!

otherwise, just drink the stuff...
