contact seller. He will have to pay for shipping for both items though.

Ask them if they sent the right part. They are bound to ask about it anyway so no sense in getting your hopes up. But there is not much they can do about it except pester you and bitch about it for who knows how long. Then comes the whole revenge part.

Better to clear it up in the beginning and get it over with. :)

I just thought of this because I bought a new GTX 580, sold my old card on ebay, but threw it in the GTX 580 box for convenience's sake. So I imagine the guy that gets it is going to get his hopes WAY up for just a second.

Also, are you certain this is a 580 and not a 460 in a different box? It's very possible the seller just upgraded his 460 and found it fit in his new 580 box, which he then shipped.

edit: Nebor beat me... that's what I get for taking 20 mins to finish a reply

I would not know the difference between the two cards and would assume that the GTX 580 on the card and the box is a valid alternate name for a GTX 460. After all, the seller knows what they're doing better than I do.

So in other words, your title isn't correct...The person just gets a 460 in a 580 box...
Nothing needs to be done.

Yeah, I guess my title isn't correct. Or my OP. Or the poll. Damn.

Or, I was asking a question separate from the situation that actually occurred. :sneaky:
