Before you do that...try 12.5 x175 and see what you get :) :) (or go 11.5, 12, 12.5 to be safe). It can be done!

I always fail at 178+ unless I have loose timings.

alchemize, I did that - here is what happened

11.5 x 175 = runs perfect
12 x 175 = errors in Prime95 after about 10 minutes
11.5 x 178 = runs perfect
11.5 x 180 = errors

All at 6-2-2-2T timings. ;)

Funny my limit is 178MHz too (I still have the jumper at 133MHz) ,& we all have different RAM!
Mine is Crucial PC2700 CL2.5

Keep us posted Wiz:)

So you are getting very close to my max...sounds like your CPU may be slightly underperforming mine, what week is it? I really think it isn't the RAM, its the Mobo limiting us, as some of the uber-geeks at amdmb.com seem to have made great things happen with the voltage mods.

Yes, I've just read a story about a guy who is chilling his N&S bridges, did all the mods etc & can run at 225 - 240 fsb... Seems like a lot to go through for a little improvement though. Then again, look at me spending how many days just trying to get a few extra mhz ;)

Mine is 0307

I just removed the cpu/fsb jumper and now the highest multiplier in bios is 12.5 - I don't plan on going that high with this cpu as I want a higher fsb.

Right now it's running Prime95 at 11.5 x 180. So far so good, 15 minutes with no errors. Timings are still 2T-2-2-6 ;)
