HyperX or Geil?

I want to buy a dual channel set but can't decide b/t Geil or Kingston. Newegg has them both for around $110-119. Geil got a good review but Kingston has not in a few articles I have read. I don't need to overclock a lot, but want the best speed for the money. Anyone have an opinion?

IMHO its a very easy choice... HyperX all the way over Geil

but personally i would take corasair xms over them both

i always thought hyperX was better than geil, but when shopping for pc4000, HyperX cost A LOT more than GeIL AND hyperX was only rated to cas 3 @ 250 mhz and Geil was rated to cas 2.5, geil was the easy choice for me

If you don't "need" to overclock, the choice is simple, buy on price point.

It's not that simple.. One may give better timings than the other at the same rated speed.

I would get the hyperx for PC3200.

Hi ,

Ive never tried HyperX but i have 2 x 256mb Geil 3200 and they perform great ... i would say they perform better than my 2 x 256mb Corsair 3200 with the Barton 2500 chip ... i get better results on Sandra 😉
