Hyperion Essbase Cube Access via ODBC through MS Access

I recently started working on a project that required me to interact with Hyperion Essbase and I was wondering if there was a way around the "top-to-bottom" retreival process that the Excel Essbase add-in function utilizes. I would prefer to create an ODBC and just connect to the tables on the server via MS Access. Is it possible? The servers are Linux based. I believe the Essbase version is 7 and my access version is 2003. As much details as possible would be appreciated.

Who's they? the server adminstrator? or the hyperion software?

Is there a simple way of knowing which driver you need?

The vendor would normally supply drivers to interface with the S/W.

Follow KLin suggestion above

Dang. I was worried about that. I will try and find something. Thanks for the help anyways. I'll post if successful.

Well I am not familiar with ADOMD.NET and XML/A, but I wanted to use access so I could work from the bottom up and build a relational model, rather than drill down from the essbase cubes.
