Nobody honestly believes Paulson when he says it's going to be $700 billion.

I remember Rumsfeld saying Iraq was only going to cost us $50 billion. We're at 10x that number already in direct appropriations, and the long term direct/indirect costs will be in the trillions.

I'm sorry, but Democrats keep telling us Iraq has already cost us $1 trillion. Are they wrong to say that, or can you not divide 1,000 by 50?

it cost more than just direct appropriations /hint

If that's the case, buy as much shit on as much credit as you can right now. Those $$ will be worthless soon and if you cant pay, the government will pay it for you.

Anyone up for doing this?

The most sensible thing to do is work to overthrow the government and turn it into a Communist or Socialist-Dictator state. Then declare that all foreign debt is void and say FU to the world and watch as the world burns.

Meanwhile, while we may be bankrupt, we'll still have a large army that we will use to annex Canada and parts of Mexico for its oil. We will then talk to our communist brothers in Venezuela to aid us with more oil or else... And we can now openly take the oil from Iraq since we won't need to care about our image.

Meanwhile, wimpy Europe will vacillate between doing something and ultimately doing nothing. And that my comrades is how we'll solve this problem. All hail the USSA!
